MelanieTheresa (997 KP) rated Leverage In Death (In Death, #47) in Books
Nov 12, 2018
Always a pleasure, the In Death series is hands down my favorite series of books in any genre. It's like going back to old friends with each new installment. By the 47th book, you know the quirks and eccentricities of each character, from over-the-top Mavis to Galahad the cat, and you can't wait to "see" them again.
Leverage in Death, while a great addition to the series, featured a central plot which felt a bit clunky to me. It was appropriately horrifying, but a bit convoluted - not nearly as streamlined as past installments in the series. The characters, as I said, are always interesting, and it's their interactions with each other that make this story work.
All of that said, I'll be eagerly awaiting #48!

Fun Writing Style
* I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.*
This book is beautifully written. It is written in a poetry style that matches well with the characters personalities. The story is that of a young man and woman who were each others first love running into each other 10 years later. I will say that it wasn't as light as I originally expected it to be, but I enjoyed the characters critic of young love and love in general. The ending also fits well with the mood of the book. Over all this wasn't my absolute favorite, but it definitely deserves a read, if not for the story than for the writing style.

I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey.
It's hard to describe a movie like Rocky Horror. A musical, sci-fi, horror, comedy?!? Well yes, but that doesn't do it justice. It is an experience..... no, I mean it. Ask the thousands of fans who still flock to midnight showings, dressed up as their favorite characters, ready to do the time warp again. So why to we enjoy this adventure of Brad Majors and his fiancee Janet Weis? Because! We don't need to explain ourselves to you. So, come up to the lab, and see what's on the slab. I see you shiver with antici............ pation

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for provide ng me with a copy of The Everlasting Rose in exchange for an honest review.
I cannot tell a lie. The Belles was one of my favorite books of 2018 and I was thrilled when I got the chance to review this one.
I loved it. The cat-and-mouse in the beginning was so well done and Camille having no idea who to trust just added the right amount of suspense.
The Belle mythology is intriguing and horrifying and like the first book this one has no small amount of body horror.
The only "complaint" I really have is that I wish we could have met the Iron Ladies sooner. I was so fascinated by them!

Huh. I thought the story had ended.
Maybe A will hook up with Gossip Girl and they'll take on corrupt politicians?
***STOP! HERE THERE BE SPOILERS***
Now, that I've read the book. Am I the only one that kinda thinks with all the A shenanigans, the girls would never, ever keep a secret as long as they lived?
Seriously, some chick who looks like Ali (sort of) shows up in Jamaica and NONE of them think to send a pic in anonymously to a tabloid site? The conspiracy theorists are legion and somebody would have dug up something on Tabitha.
Also, it took a freaking year for the body to wash up? I find that pretty suspicious.
Poor Hanna. She's always been my favorite.

Insomnia- was christopher nolan's threed film that he directed. Insomnia has robin williams as the bad guy. Usually he plays the funny roles, but in this he is a serious twisted bad guy and i loved it. It was a different role for him and he did a excelllent job.
Insomnia is actually a remake of the same name. The oringal came out in 1997, it was a foreign langauge film and started Stellan Skarsgard.
Inaomnia- has mystery, suspense, drama, thrills, chills and horror.
I love this film, its one of my all time favorite movies and its also in my top ten best movies of all time.
Insomnia is a must see film, also watch the oringal.

I greatly enjoyed the film. I thought that it was beautiful, charming, and entertaining. That being said, I do not think that it was a perfect film. I thought that the choices being made were interesting and had good direction but I felt some scenes lacked the emotion I wanted because they were too quick or short and some of the character decisions or adjustments from the book didn't work for me. I did think that the cast did an astounding job and the movie was truly beautiful and captivating. King Of The Jungle
Tarzan- I love this movie, this is one of my favorite animation films of all time. Its a classic.
The plot: In this Disney animated tale, the orphaned Tarzan (Tony Goldwyn) grows up in the remote African wilderness, raised by the gentle gorilla Kala (Glenn Close). When a British expedition enters the jungle, Tarzan encounters the beautiful Jane (Minnie Driver) and recognizes that, like her, he's human. Falling in love with Jane, Tarzan is torn between embracing civilization and staying with his gorilla family, which becomes threatened by the ruthless hunter Clayton (Brian Blessed).
Its a excellent and fantastic movie made by Disney before the 2000's. When the 2000's hit went on a downhill slop. But ill get to those movies.

I am so glad HBO unlocked some of it's contents. It's no secret I love crime documentaries, it's the majority of television that I watch.
This doc was a first hand account by FBI agents, and the 'winners' of the McDonald's Monopoly game. Agent Mathews was my favorite, he was straight up hilarious. I may have found some of it funnier than most, mainly because in the first ep he complains about healthcare fraud, which is actually the field I work in. FBI agents do not like it in general because it takes forever to prove, speaking from personal interactions with agents.
It was interesting that the 'winners' and other people involved actually participated. It made for a rounded documentary.
