Characters to feel for
some of the best writing I've seen in a while.
Dreams or Nightmares you want to behold Weep yourself.
Review Wow!
Seriously the only word I can think that sums up Strange the Dreamer. Laini Taylor has such a way with words that just pulls you into the amazing worlds she writes and Strange the Dreamer does this from beginning to end. The world she builds is honestly anything but a fairytale but the images she uses through out the book are just so vivid that even through all the horror you want to go there Weep is a place that holds nothing but awful memories but the way she writes it you want to see it feel and just breathe it all in.

The Characters she's created this time around are all so diverse and though you genuinely don't like a few of the characters you want to know more about for me it was Minya. She is hands down my favorite character from the book she is just so fascinating that I could read a series solely about her. Lazlo is also a favorite he is just such a wonderful protagonist that you want to get everything he does about and on that note, Taylor went above and beyond with Lazlo's dream sequences that I just wanted to jump right into the pages and live in them.

I could probably go on forever about how much I just loved this book and I am going to die to wait for the next book.

One of my favorite legal suspense authors is Rachel Dylan. Her writing style is genuine and unique and her characters always come to life for me as I read her books. I had the pleasure of reading books 1 and 2 in this amazing series, and now, I've had the delight to read book 3. It was so refreshing going back to Atlanta and feeling like the story was written just for me.

I loved getting to see Mia and Noah's story unfold. Their pain, their struggles, the twists and turns of the plot, all jumped off the pages and captured me completely. Noah's character was absolutely my favorite, and I fell in love with him so hard in this story! Mia's character was incredibly luck to have him protecting her!

Ms. Dylan's talent for intricately weaving a legal thriller into an unforgettable read is amazing. She does a fantabulous job at research, and blending it with her awesome messages of hope, love, forgiveness and mercy.

This is the third book in her ATLANTA JUSTICE series. I highly recommend it be read in the series, and not as a stand alone. The full effect of this author's talent and her amazing characters that become family is best felt reading the books in the entire series. Ms. Dylan has once again created a phenomenally amazing, heart-pounding story of edge-of-your-seat suspense. Definitely giving this one a high 4 star rating and two thumbs up.

The Ingredients were mixed in the bowl without being baked.
The buildup to the climaxes of the previous seasons hand our expectations at an all time high. For those of us who became invested in the story and the characters, we were supremely let down. This season could have benefited from more time. When everything seems rushed it doesn't give enough time for things to be fulfilled and wrapped up in an emotionally satisfactory way.

The writers were unable to "Kill their darlings". You could tell they only wanted to jump from their favorite plot point to their favorite plot point without any or little explanation of how they got there. The same plot points could have been reached and been plausible had there been enough time to develop.

The entire season seemed to be half baked. It built well to a very underwhelming climax of the battle of Winterfell which made everything after that felt like a poor excuse for denouement. Some of the heroes that they spent 8 years developing became poor shadows of themselves in order to accomplish what the writers wanted. We received good ingredients but not being mixed well or even cooked to become something good, it fell horribly flat.

It also seemed like the wrong medium for this type of adaptation. It could have used more time to develop for screen what worked well in the books, instead it turned into a poor excuse for a stage show.

This story may very well be my favorite of Jen Turano's to date. Temperance is my favorite wallflower. Her artistic abilities endear her to me in a special way. But beyond that, this story is so full of plot twists you will want to read this in one sitting. (Which is easier to do on audio for me.)

Gilbert Cavendish likes order and organization. He lives by his lists and well thought out plans. So when Temperance Flowerdew comes barreling back into his life, he is shaken to his core. Temperance Flowerdew is just the slightest bit stubborn. Which I, of course, can't relate to in the slightest...*cough*cough*...😏 She has survived so much heartache. By God's grace, she is finding life and purpose again. And oh! What a life it is! Full of color, love, spirit, and confidence.

There were numerous times while reading I was found laughing out loud and then gasping in shock then next minute, it's a wonder my husband doesn't think I'm crazy (well...we won't get into that). Jen Turano is by far one of the most talented authors that I know. To weave humor, romance, subterfuge, and danger so seamlessly is brilliant! Not to mention several twists that will catch you by surprise.

If you are looking for a good story that will give you laughs while giving you a grand adventure, you won't want to miss this book.

I received a complimentary copy of Caught by Surprise from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
