Don't Look Now (1973)

"As a moviegoer, one of my favorite things is encountering a vision that you don’t understand. I love the scenario of this man having visions he has to keep secret from his wife, who’s been seeking out psychics to help access their dead child. That image of the funeral boat going down the canal haunts me. It’s spooky and gorgeous at the same time. I’m drawn to horror movies that treat the genre in an unusual way. And of course, this movie has one of the greatest love scenes of all time—it’s incredible to see that level of intimacy on the screen."

"The other Louis Malle I chose, my favorite of his and the first one I saw. I was lucky enough to take a class on Malle in university, and so I was exposed to this great filmmaker at a young age. This is by far the best coming-of-age story I have ever seen. The incestuous mother/son relationship is surprisingly underplayed and comical. In a scenario that would otherwise be shocking, Malle doesn’t judge his characters, he just tells their story. Also notable is the beautiful Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker soundtrack. A wonderful, rare movie."

Iron Man 3 (2013)
Iron Man 3 (2013)
2013 | Action, Sci-Fi
A very underrated addition to the MCU. Iron Man 3 is a very interesting look at the character of Tony Stark in the fallout of Avengers. He must now struggle with what he's seen and what he's experienced. This movie has some cool dialogue and some awesome action sequences. One of my favorite sequences of the film is the DIY fight that Tony has. He has to create his own improvised weapons when the suit fails on him. Disappointed with how the Mandarin was very underused, but you can't win everything. Overall, definitely better than most people make it out to be.

I enjoyed everything about this movie. Loved the 80s references, soundtrack, special effects and captain marvel is, well... marvellous (0 more)
Absolutely awesome
I thought the trailers looked good and I wasnt disappointed. I wasnt a big fan but this reinvention is awesome. Love the soundtrack, it fits well with the scenes and is a blast from the past. The special effects are awesome, especially towards the end. The humor is on point, and i love the dry wry wit of Carol Danvers. She totally kicks ass. Wonder woman was my favorite growing up. If this version of Captain Marvel was around then, she would definately be on the top of my list of favorite superheros. Shes a strong stubborn female who doesnt take herself too seriously.
The CGI was really well done on Goose and to make a younger Coulson & Nick Fury. Interesting to see a younger, less serious, humorous Nick Fury. I loved everything about it. One of my top movies for Marvel and 2019.

Ever since I was born, I was dope.
After watching @The Lonely Island Presents: The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience (2019) , I was in the mood to re-watch one of my favorite movies. I was also aghast that I hadn't reviewed this yet.
I've loved The Lonely Island since Lazy Sunday, and I'm on a Boat was basically the anthem for my senior year of college (university). This is one of my favorite mockumentaries out of all of them. The songs are hilarious, and any movie that starts out with the line, 'Ever since I was born, I was dope', is going to be completely absurd. The crude nature of the songs always makes me laugh out loud, and I have the CD in my car. My favorites are 'Karate Guy', and 'Finest Girl (Bin Laden Song)', and they still make me snort-laugh whenever I hear them.
The humor isn't for everyone, most songs are explicit, with sometimes cringe-worthy detail, but it makes it funnier to me.

Chris Parnell recommended Annie Hall (1977) in Movies (curated)

Annie Hall (1977)
Annie Hall (1977)
1977 | Comedy, Romance

"It would probably be a Woody Allen movie, and I don’t know whether it would be Manhattan, or Annie Hall, or Broadway Danny Rose. Those are my three favorites, but it’s kind of hard to pick a favorite among those. I don’t know. It’s hard. I mean, they’re all three so good. I don’t know. Maybe Annie Hall is my favorite. It’s one of the most lauded certainly. But then you’ve got Manhattan, and the romance of New York City, and you have that obviously in Annie Hall, to a certain extent. Broadway Danny Rose is less often mentioned, I find, but still really amazing with him (Allen) and Mia Farrow. He’s such a character, and Broadway Danny Rose represents all these, you know, sort of loser acts in a way. But it’s such a sweetness to it that I love, and it’s just like all of his – I like all of those movies certainly. So well shot, in beautiful black and white. "

Part City Slickers For Kids and Part Dumbo
The Secret Life of Pets 2 is a 2019 computer animated comedy movie directed by Chris Renaud, co-directed by Jonathan del Val, and written by Brian Lynch. It was produced by Illumination and Universal Pictures and distributed by Universal Pictures. The film stars Patton Oswalt, Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, and Ellie Kemper.

Max (Patton Oswalt) feels anxious and uneasy when his and Duke's (Eric Stonestreet) owner Katie (Ellie Kemper) marries and has a child, Liam (Henry Lynch). He quickly adjusts and grows to like him and develops a strong bond, however he also develops a complex (nervous itch/scratch) thinking of danger whenever Liam ventures outside. He's left with a cone on his head after visiting the vet but the cure for his neuroses just might be a family trip to the countryside.

This movie was fun and had some decent laughs but I feel it fell short of the original. Still if you liked the first one, you're sure to enjoy this one. As someone said, it's almost like a dog version of City Slickers, which is a really funny movie too. There were a welcome addition of new characters, and a lot of take a-ways, messages and themes built into what is supposed to be a kids film. My favorite is of course Snowball who somehow has changed from villain in the first movie to superhero in this one. I give this movie a 6/10.

Great Reboot From the First
As a comic book fan the Hulk is my favorite superhero. I never missed an episode of the old television series and had many comic books. So I think this movie did the Hulk justice. I absolutely hated the one with Bana. This one was a great improvement. I must say I do like Norton better in this role than Ruffalo. I am not saying Ruffalo is bad but Norton captured what Bruce Banner is for me. I liked the design of this Hulk and the essence of his rage was captured very well. The supporting cast was great as well. William Hurt and Liv Tyler did a great job as General Ross and Betty Ross. I was so glad they brought one of the Hulk's main enemies into this movie as well...The Abomination. For those that don't know, the Abomination is a gamma monster the same as the Hulk but he is bigger and stronger than the Hulk. The thing about the Hulk is he has this x Factor. The madder he gets, the stronger he gets. So he is more than a match for Abomination. This movie set the standard for how a Hulk movie should be made. There was a part in which there is a set up for another villain of the Hulk's...The Leader. We haven't seen anything about him yet in the MCU but I am hoping this comes to fruition. As a Hulk fan..I recommend this movie
