This is a good film. I personally thought it would have been better off. If it was not made as a MIB franchise. Youhave certain expectations of this franchise that the third one really didn't deliver on. Then for this international MIB non of the cast is the same the comedy is different and has a totally different feel about this. Definitely would have been better all round if hadn't been named as a MIB the ratings would have been higher too, In my opinion

Oh my goodness.

I absolutely adored this book! I am a huge sucker for any kind of fairy tale retelling and this one did not disappoint!

Through about the first half of the book, I had this warm, floaty kind of feeling in my chest. The writing actually made me feel like I was in love (or what I assume it to feel like). The way the characters talked to each other and interacted just made me feel so good about this book.

Speaking of the characters, can I say well written? Because, wow! I felt really connected to the characters (especially Feyre's sassy-ness and care for her family). They were very well written and drawn out. I didn't feel like they were flattened or abused in any way, even when they were being beaten up on the pages. There was a great deal of respect that was shown to all of the characters in this book. I really enjoyed the strength that Maas gave to each of her characters. It was as if they had their own way to deal with their weaknesses and strengths. They felt so real! I think what helped with creating this reality was making some of the characters seem super awkward at times. I mean, everyone gets awkward, but the way it was done was to show how the characters really were, not necessarily how the narrator was seeing them.

The plot was amazingly paced. I didn't feel like I was waiting for something exciting to happen because it was always happening. Even down to the smallest of parts in this novel were exciting. But even then, it didn't feel too over the top in excitement. There was a great balance between pacing and excitement (I have said that word too many times in this review, but who cares!)

I didn't feel like there was much missing from this book except for more pages. I didn't want it to end!!

If I could, I would give this a higher rating than a 5 star because it was just that amazing!!

I recommend this to anyone who adores fairy tale retellings, fantasy, fairies, or just a damn good read. Honestly, if you haven't picked this book up, I really recommend that you do. I am kind of kicking myself for not picking up this book sooner!

Serious, But Amusing
Nic and the Captain bring personality and camaraderie to the true-crime table without the outright silliness and irreverence of some of the more popular podcasts. Soft-spoken and smooth-voiced, they weave stories of victims and crimes with vivid detail while still respecting the dignity of the victims. They are never careless in that respect.

Even the stories that are familiar to the average listener are compiled in such a way as to make them feel fresh, and most are peppered with items that may not be so widely known.

Nic and the Captain are lifelong friends and their chemistry is one of the best parts of the show. From the first few minutes of your first episode, you will feel as if you are in the garage with them, having an IPA and talking about true crime.

I suggest The Boys On The Tracks as a good first show to throw you headfirst into a multi-part, multi-layered story that showcases the amount of research the guys put into their work. Unfortunately, I feel that it also is one of the episodes where their personal views made me a bit annoyed. They rarely seem to cross over into the realm of conspiracy, but this one episode seems to do that. But it is very good, nonetheless.

Brie Larson rocks Captain Marvel with almost perfect performance
Brie Larson kicks butt in this action packed adventure that takes Carol Danvers on a trip down (a very long) memory lane.

The overall plot of the movie works brilliantly and does well to give fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe a glimpse of the raw power that Captain Marvel posseses. The story (with good reason obviously) focused a lot on Captain Marvels journey to learn who she is and where she comes from. In doing that however I feel like Marvel left us with little back story behind the Kree-Skrull war. This could be paid off in later films but I do feel as though this was the perfect opportunity.

The 90's feel was executed to perfection, from the costumes to the sets, the soundtrack to the technology, there was a perfect amount of nostalgia without it getting close to cheesy. This allowed the film to focus on it's 'Top Gun' style and makes it stand out and stand strong amongst any other Marvel film to date.

Whilst I feel there was a small amount of detail missing, overall I thought the film was an action packed rollercoaster of fun which made great use of the opportunity to set up everything that was to come in the MCU timeline.

Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson were terrific and I hope they can collaborate further in any planned sequel.

On a final note, now that Captain Marvel is out there for the world to see, bring on Avengers: Endgame!

Some under developed characters
Weak villain
Good but a little overrated
Considering the general praise for this film, I had been expecting great things and although for a Marvel origins film it's pretty good, I still found it a bit disappointing.

I like T'Challa as a main character and I love some of the strong female characters in this film. His sister especially is fantastic and brings some welcome humour too. This isn't your typical Marvel film, and feels like it has more meaning and depth, although this means the humour side is a little lacking. Its also good not to have this bogged down with other characters from the universe.

My problems were that it felt like it dragged a bit and I was almost getting bored. The CGI is very patchy in places to the point it gets distracting and despite some good characters, I feel a lot of others are very under developed, like Forest Whitaker and Daniel Kaluuya. Martin Freeman's character could have been removed from the film entirely with no impact. Also I felt Erik was a bit of a weak villain and Andy Serkis was much more better placed and would have brought a bit more character.

All in all its a good and different origin story, but not one of my favourites.

HAYL is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Not too long ago, she released a heartfelt indie-pop ballad, entitled, “Feel Again”.

“This song is a piano ballad expressing how numb I felt in my relationship with a past lover. Him cheating, me half-heartedly forgiving him, and covering up the fact that we were in a messy, confusing, unhealthy cycle. It’s about him never letting me in emotionally and us hanging on to each other’s brokenness.” – HAYL

‘Feel Again’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman who is head-over-heels in love with a guy who she shares a problematic relationship with.

Apparently, she feels that he has taken advantage of her weakness. After many weeping sessions, she has no more tears left to cry and just wants to feel being loved by someone again.
Later, she admits that she’s addicted to the above-mentioned individual and wants to know why he’s so good at saying goodbye.

‘Feel Again’ contains a bittersweet storyline, pleasing vocals, and lush instrumentation scented with sentimental elements.

“I opened up my heart and wrote this song in 45 minutes with co-writer, Forrest Finn. I still get really emotional thinking back on that relationship, feeling sad that I felt trapped and helpless. This cover artwork is symbolic of me covering up my heart with lies I believed that became my truth. I hope this song heals the heartbroken and is hope for those who have lost love. That there is beauty after the pain and that you deserve to feel that again.” – HAYL

Not a real feel good film considering the subject. (0 more)
Great portrayal of two greats
Coogan and Reilly star as the legendary double act, both actors must has spent hours perfecting Laurel and Hardys mannerisms, speech and comic timing as their portrayal of their respective characters are spot on...

This is the story of the latter part of their career, on a tour of the UK with the possibility of a new film as a dangling carrot to perform...

The comic routines during the stage parts of the film are almost as well performed as the real thing, yet coupled with the humour, is an underlying sadness of two stars trying to regain what they once had, and it's this that stops it being a feel good film as it is quite moving and sad if you are a fan of the duo...

It is interesting to see how their relationship is strained at times yet in spite of that how much they obviously cared for each other...

I don't know if the stars won any awards for their playing of Stan & Ollie, but if they didn't, they should have...

I have no idea what I just watched. Seriously, I feel like I wasted 2 hours of my life on a run around film that made literally no sense. Not only was Melvin just a horrible person, but he was also racist, and homophobic, and sexist, and THAT'S the ending they went with? I'm so confused.

You ever just watch those films and you get an eerie feeling because you know it didn't age well? This is one of those. I can't imagine it did that good when it came out, but now? Now it's just painful and bad. I'm so confused as to how this film has an 8. Someone, please explain where they saw an 8 in this movie. Did we watch the same one? God help me.

Also, Jack Nicholson looks like he could be Helen Hunt's dad. I have some questions for the casting director, the writers, the director, honestly the whole staff. Did they think this film was going to be good when they made it? The dog was the best part of the film. I feel like that's saying something.

You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010)
You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010)
2010 | Comedy, Drama, Musical
Yet another Woody Allen group of unhappy, neurotic, misanthropic unlikeables who cheat on each other, bluntly recite surface-level themes, and belittle the dead while he glosses over most of the consequential parts of the story only leaving behind the scraps of tawdry, tedious conversations that hardly ever feel genuine and who fucking gives a fuck? Not nearly as cynical nor unpleasant as 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 (not that it isn't also either of those things... because it is) but about one hundred thousand times less meaty compared to a film that really wasn't all that meaty to begin with. This doesn't even have a premise, a bunch of assholes just sit around and scold each other about being assholes - oh and also life is meaningless, again. K man. I'm all for some good feel-bad cinema but this shit just tries my patience. The literal only thing of note is how magnificent Gemma Jones is, otherwise this barely even qualifies as distracting. Never before has the usual Allen autopilot been *this* indifferent - the same movie he's made like ten+ times over the last two decades. And what a waste of a good Banderas...
