This was a great continuation of the story, however, I feel it suffered a bit from middle book syndrome - ie, where is purpose is to move the overall series plot forward, and so neglected to find its own internal arch. This resulted with a slightly unsatisfying feelings. This won't matter in the long run, as I'm still intrigued and captured by the series plotting, but as a stand alone it lacks a little bit of spark. Also, still no world building as to what causes Cyborgs to be reviled, though still not a deal breaker it would be nice if this was explained. Prejudices generally don't stem from pure revulsion. There's always some kind of warped logic or distortion of history. In my head canon it's that cyborg technology came about following the fourth world war, and the disgust at the horrors of that war, linked to all the now cyborg ex soldiers fueled the prejudice.

You can't run and hide....
I thought the first book had some sad moments.......Sheesh. Evolved has picked up a while later and is just as good as the first.
The heartbreaking events keep happening, the danger is ever present and tolerance of the evolved is low.
Hadi is relying on drugs more heavily than before for more reasons than one. You can't help but feel for him.
James is in a different country and has his own demons following him..... including his feelings for Hadi and the events they came through together.
It's nice to see a closeness between different personalities how they each click in place. A mismatch type of family, just like the rest of us.
As with Hellfire, the first in the series, this is for adults. The themes of death and drug use are still there (drugs being the main one). Again my heart was smashed and the cracks are far bigger.

Another book that's been on my kindle since 2013.
Um...i don't know how to put my feelings into words about this one. The beginning bit was hard to read. I think this is the first book where domestic abuse has been described and happened in detail for me and I didn't enjoy reading it. Mia had such a shitty life at the start.
I liked Jordan a lot. He's the kind of guy I like my girls to get with in romances. Looks like a bad arse but is really a great guy once you get to know him.
Another thing I liked was that it wasn't set in a school/college environment like most other new adult books but at the same time, I kinda missed that element of football games, meeting after classes, sorority/fraternity parties... Yeah, I'm hard to please where NA books are concerned simply because I've read so many.

Anna is a typical girl,awkward.worried and just normal which is the most refreshing thing to read. I absolutely adore her and St Clair's whole bond, its just heart warming. I found them so real, St Clair is portrayed as someone with feelings rather than something to look at and admire which I love. I think the situations they ended up in felt like something believable not just an "ideal romance"
Paris is described so beautifully and I love how Stephaine Perkins sets the scene I think she describes it in such a way you can visualize.
Anna's friends she meets while at school are the kind of friends you would want for yourself, they are down to earth and so real. I love how she has a separate bond with all of them.
Overall I loved this book, it was a fast and easy read perfect for a weekend read. I enjoyed it from start to finish.

I really enjoyed this. It was everything I like; a mystery, a romance, witty.
I was really intrigued by Chris/Kit and J.X.'s history together. Why were they so hostile to each other? It was slowly explained throughout and I kind of melted reading about their three nights together all those years ago and the feelings involved. Awww...
There was one scene fairly early on between them that made me all warm and fuzzy, until it was over and then I wanted to smack someone--mainly J.X.
As for the murder mystery, I would never have figured it out. I knew it was a man, and not Chris/Kit so was left with three possibilities. I didn't want to think it was J.X. either so that left two but then I was completely stumped.
I'm now going onto book 2 so I can read more of these two!
