Dean (6927 KP) rated The Fifth Commandment (2008) in Movies
Apr 30, 2019
A pretty good straight to DVD action film. Some good fight scenes and stunt work. An assassin passes up a hit on a female singer and gets drawn in to protect her from the next taker. Feels like quite a few other films put together most notably Bangkok Dangerous and the Replacement killers.

modern dramedy
This show, more than anything currently depicting millennial relationships (gay, lesbian, and straight) feels real. I see myself and the people I know reflected in these characters.
Everything, from setting/costumes/filming, is basic...authentic. Williamson doesn't have anything hiding behind clever tricks and presents an emotionally intricate piece of art.

Roxanne (13 KP) rated Norman The Slug With The Silly Shell in Books
Nov 14, 2018
Norman is a slug that wants to be a snail so he can join in with his snail friends as he feels a bit left out. This is a really good read for children as it's very bright, colourful and a lot of fun. My daughter likes to count the piles of snails.

Kirsty (29 KP) rated The Casual Vacancy in Books

The story is kind of dragged out and I feel like it could have been shortened a lot. It's basically telling the story of a small town but there just isn't enough excitement to capture me and make me want to keep reading as it just all feels like much of the same

Griffin (480 KP) rated Magic: The Gathering in Tabletop Games
Dec 15, 2018
Base rules are farily simple (complex rules are detailed on the cards themselves) (2 more)
Great Art, Lore, and overall Theme
High skill cap, you get better everytime you play
Card effects can get rather complex and ambiguous (2 more)
Very high price barrier to be competitive
Feels high on randomness at times
Fantasy based warfare

Dean (6927 KP) rated The ABC Murders in TV
Dec 28, 2018 (Updated Dec 29, 2018)
A very slow burner
I'm a big fan of Poirot and whodunit mysteries in general. So I was looking forward to this considering the cast. Unfortunately at 3 episodes it feels a little bit too long and drawn out. It's still interesting enough for fans but others might find it a bit ponderous.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated The Year I Became Isabella Anders (Sunnyvale, #1) in Books
Jan 7, 2021
3.5 stars, mainly because we didn't get a concluding story. We didn't get a definite romance or answers so this feels more like a serial story than a full length one. That being said I kinda NEED to know what happens next, is she going to get with Kai? Or Kyler (ugh).
