"I love River’s Edge. River’s Edge is one of those movies like… I grew up in Colorado. When I saw it, I was like, “That’s more like where I’m from than a John Hughes movie.” It’s like seeing that, and then seeing Gummo. That feels more like where I’m from than Can’t Hardly Wait."

"It’s one of the most important American films of all time and a powerful, wonderful breakthrough for Spike Lee. All the pieces fit, and it feels effortless. The climactic riot scene is already a landmark in cinematic storytelling. Spike Lee essentially crafted a war film, except the battles are set in inner-city America."

"When I first saw Haim, I said, “There’s something about this band that feels extra-fresh. What is it?” I did some research, and it turns out Alana Haim was born in the Nineties. She’s the one who brings that youthful, born-in-the-Nineties spirit to the group. Sadly, Vampire Weekend doesn’t have that."

"Really dig how much energy this band have in their songs, it feels like it’s part of a big guitar-led post-punk revival at the moment. They’re from South London but the singer Harrison is a manc so he gives them this sort of Echo and the Bunnymen edge which is really cool"

I have gone on quite a bit about this one recently. I just think it is wonderful, and by far the best and least mawkishly sentimental work from Richard Curtis, of Love, Actually infamy. It makes me laugh so hard; the perfect awkwardness of Domhnal Gleason against the cute intelligence of Rachel McAdams; the exquisite turn by Bill Nighy as the time travelling father; and every small character and very British nuance in-between – it is such a pleasure. It also makes me cry… a lot! What I like about it is that it feels exactly like being in love. Exactly! There will be regret and pain, but in the end there is that one person that gets you and always will. And that idea… feels good!

"That’s probably my favorite film right now. Drinking Buddies was very inspired by this movie. I just love how it managed to be a real successful mainstream Hollywood comedy but it’s really complicated. The characters in this film are married, they have children, they’re still talking about open sexual relationships, and doing drugs, it just… it feels real to me, is how it feels. I’m very impressed by it, not only for its sense of humor which I think is spot on, but also for its sort of willingness to dip into dramatic elements and to have central characters who are not necessarily likeable all the time, who are, you know, sort of confused and behaving in very human realistic ways."

As somebody who is currently alive and breathing, take this with a grain of salt but: I think this may be the closest thing we have to know what dying feels like. Full-tilt, three hour nonstop mindfuck that features the single scariest piece of horror movie imagery I've ever seen. Went through shades of loving, hating, and being indifferent towards this but ultimately fell head over heels and appreciated everything altogether in retrospect - just needed to experience the whole thing first. Dern is beyond fabulous, only Lynch is capable of cooking up something *this* fully committed to scrambling one's brain. But most importantly of all, it didn't drag for a second. What being way too high feels like without actually being high.

Well one compliment I can give this is it feels more like a Marvel film. Apart from Aquaman, Wonder Woman many DC offerings have not matched the Marvel level. I can't say I've heard of any of the characters before, don't know much of the comics. This feels like a film where you should have already seen some of the characters in another film.
There is a ton of action scenes and plenty of carnage in a fairly straightforward of good vs evil but this time with a God like character who will use violence against the enemy.
It's a very enjoyable film overall if not anything ground breaking in the superhero collection.
