Oddball drama
A rather odd, colourful drama series based on a collection of short erotic stories.
It's very flamboyant, with a mixture of weird and wonderful characters set in Tangier in the 50's. An American heiress travels to meet up with her English husband and encounters a hedonistic culture. Almost film noir like at times as well with plots covering some dark deeds as well.
Then main problem with a short 6 episode series as it feels directionless, probably not helped if it's based on several short stories. It doesn't seem to have a main plot running through it. What seems to be a major plot in one episode might be sidelined in the next. Just a bit strange overall.

I buddy read this book with a friend, blindly picking it up on a shopping trip with no prior knowledge of the author, or wattpad honestly. The story was fun, and a great fast paced thriller for spooky season. The writing style was easy to follow, and everything moved pretty quickly, sometimes too quickly, but I'd rather have that than constant slow pauses. I will say the most heart pounding action for me was in the last chapter or two. Things got really good, really fast, just to end as quickly as it started. The ending feels open to a potential sequel, so maybe we'll see more in the future. Overall, great pace, fun story, and an ending that left me shocked and confused. 🤣

it is a lovely journal. It has 99 different lists to fill, the topics are taken from everyday life and the variety is very wide. From “Things you think are cute” to “Clothing that feels the most “you” ” The year has been a little grim, so a reminder of what makes me happy is quite handy. The journal is nice and colourful and filled with very fun and adorable illustrations. 🙂
So, to conclude, “99 things I want to do” is still on my wish list, but this journal is a fun reminder of the best things in life. I recommend to anyone who struggles to find joy in life, it might serve as a reminder that everything is not as bad as we think.

Aka Alright Now, only watched because Cobie Smulders is very good in @Stumptown and thought this might be funny. Really not sure how this even got released! It's really bad barely a plot to it, the script doesn't have much to it. It's not funny, it feels really amateurish alround. The camera work is very shaky like it was shot on a handheld camcorder. It doesn't really make sense. A fading popstar decides to enroll at a university after breaking up with her band who were good 20 years ago. Slight Rom-com angle to it as well that also just doesn't fit in. Skip this you'll be glad.

Feels like it's 30 minutes longer than it is (1 more)
Rather dull and uneventful
Very slow burner
Thought I'd give this a go as it's just popped up on Netflix. Directed by and starring George Clooney as a lone scientist trying to contact a spaceship returning to Earth after a global disaster. The event on Earth is very vague with no real explanation. The film switches between the spaceship and earth segments for quite long periods. There just isn't enough story or action for the film. A couple of small action scenes and that's it. Which makes the film feel very long. The sets are nice and the space scenes look good. Overall it's a bit slow and predictable.

Age shall not diminish, nor dubious sequels reduce the magic of the Wachowskis' visionary blend of philosophical SF and hyperkinetic martial arts action. Arguably the origin of the current superhero movie, as uncertain hero Neo undergoes the conceptual breakthrough to end all conceptual breakthroughs, learns to access his inner potential, and discovers that black never goes out of fashion.
The script is still a marvel of economy and wit, the ideas underpinning it fascinating, and the action sequences, when they arrive, are phenomenal. Obviously a film of its time (the pseudo-1999 setting now feels a little quaint), but absolutely timeless in the way the very best films are. One of those movies it is almost impossible to change without making it worse.

Feels like you're there in the park
Hell of a ride
Finally got to see this on Netflix today as I missed it at the cinema. It looked good from the trailer. Fairly low budget but it has a good premise of some friends enjoying a Halloween night at a Horror theme park. It wasn't particularly scary but the setting definitely made the film more fun as you feel like you are experiencing the park as well. Definitely more of a a slow stalk and slash film with a couple of gore scenes as well. If you are after a decent Horror film for this Halloween add this to your list and enjoy your ride to Hell Fest!

After winning this from Smashbomb and requested I review it so here goes.
I would not have purchased this album even though I do like some of Madonnas other works but they are mostly the 80s hits and some from the Frozen album.
I found 2 or 3 tracks ok to listen to with nice use of beats and piano in the songs. But over all I felt she was trying to cater to too many genres which sometimes works but for me on this occasion it didnt. A generous 5 out of 10 from me.

Brad Pitt gets to be more than eye candy, his acting ability is shown in this.
It is such a rollercoaster of feelings.
Just fantastic!
I'm not a reviewer that likes to include spoilers - especially on films I want people to watch so all I will say is this:
Please watch this. It's so fascinating, the story is unlike anything I've ever heard or seen before. It's not the usual Brat Pitt movie, but opposite Cate Blanchett he shines through. They both wouldn't usually be put together yet they work! It's a story that isn't realistic yet with the many other amazing actors/actresses in this movie it feels so real.

Jacob Wilding (39 KP) rated V-Wars - Season 1 in TV

I started this show thinking that I'd finally found a new show I could get into. I watched about 2 maybe 3 episodes (it's been a while) and it was painful to watch. Now of course many shows have that couple episode area where you need to push through and then it starts getting better. This show didn't have it.
The relationship between the main protagonist and his wife feels fake. He seems to care little to none about his son and overall the actor's performance gives the feel that he was given a script that just doesn't work.
Some of the settings also feel like they were slapped together last minute.
