A good low budget surprise
I stumbled across this on Sky cinema the other night. Never heard of it before but saw good reviews for it, so tried it out. It's quite a simple film in terms of plot. Some kids go looking down a cave for a missing professor. Things go from bad to worse once they are down there. If you like sci-fi films about time travel or the like you will like this quite a bit. The budget is low and the acting isn't great but the ideas in the film make up for it. Worth checking out if you are stuck with what to watch.

This won't be rising from the ashes
I was quite excited about this X-Men film as I thought the last film was the end of the current class. Then I heard about the bad reviews and can understand why.
It's the weakest of the 4 "first class" X-Men films. The first 2 films were really good and among my favourites of all the X-Men films.
This wasn't as good as Last stand for me which also has Jean turn bad.
Saved by some good actors and some good action scenes as they battle each other. Overall it's nearer the bottom of the class of all the X-Men films that have been made.

This is a real mind bending, brain teasing movie that I wasnt to sure about after reading some negative reviews but I'm glad I ignored them as this was a great little film.
A Los Angeles detective discovers his brother, sister in law and niece gunned down and murder.A little while after he starts getting phone calls from his dead niece, how can she still be alive?.After a while he realises that she is calling from the past and the murders havent happened yet.Can he help prevent them from happening at all.

This was a clever little film, not the usual stuff you expect from blumhouse pictures.Definitely worth watching.

Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
2019 | Sci-Fi, Thriller
The story and the route it takes is a perfect continuation of Infinity War and it’s a film that is one that brings the Avengers to a conclusion that is worthy of being called an epic and a film that gets that high rating in my reviews. It has so many things that you can sit down and talk about with those have already seen it, sharing moments that may have surprised you during the viewing, Avengers Endgame is going to go down in history as a movie that had fans in tears watching in cinemas around the world and having everyone saying, “but what now? How can we go on with the MCU?“.

2nd viewing liked even more
The first scene of the film makes you think you are going to be watching a Saving Private Ryan type film, but then they get to the beach.

The first time I watched Dunkirk, I felt disappointed by that fact as I felt like the film kept building and building to a climax that was a little underwhelming. My mind changed the 2nd time since I already knew the plot and the outcome.

The simultaneous events in the film keep the tension going in a masterful way. You, as the viewer, are really not able to settle into your seat very much as the storylines keep bouncing back-and-forth between land, sea and air every few minutes.

Unlike SPR, this story is more about the situation and events in a grand scale, so you don't really get to know individual characters that much. That seems by design.

Hat's off to the score by Hans Zimmer here. He has been doing great work on film score's for years and this is one of his best. Supplements the beat of the film perfectly.

Although I read mostly positive reviews here, I would recommend a 2nd viewing for those still on the fence or in doubt of the film's craft and majesty.

I find second viewings are always to a film's benefit. For me, the first viewing allows for processing. Repeated viewings allow me to get more details and catch stuff I may have missed before. It helps to define which story is being told (as opposed to what the expectation may for which story "should be" told) and to deepen comprehension.

Generally I would agree other than maybe rewatching movies I liked when I was younger and destroying the magic now that I am adult. Like Highlander or The NeverEnding Story. Kind of cheesy now.

One for Ring fans
Well been wanting to see this for a while as the first film was really good. This definitely feels like a low budget follow up which is a shame, but the cast is quite recognisable from other shows. It's more thriller than a horror with no scary or gruesome moments. Bit surprised at the bad reviews, if you like the other films you'll probably find this ok.

As Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas, it's the perfect time to revisit the previous films in George Lucas's epic series. The original Star Wars (1977) dazzled audiences on its first release, but opinions on the blockbuster film series have have changed over the years.

The Empire Strikes Back (1980) initially met with sniffy reviews from the critics, and is now generally considered one of the best films in the franchise. So where will @Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) rank?

Critics are suggesting that The Last Jedi might be even better than expected – but where should it really come in the definitive Star Wars ranking?

I knew who queen are and thought I knew who freddie was but this showed me the highs and many lows of his life and through it all the amazing music of queen.i have seen some reviews where they criticised the lip syncing but you don't really notice it and the lead has really manages to capture Freddie I wouldnt expect an actor to also be able to sing like Freddie.
Overall a really emotional film and really worth a watch.

A Star Is Born (2018)
A Star Is Born (2018)
2018 | Drama, Romance
Dull and overhyped
I have seen so many good reviews about this film that I thought I was sure to love it, especially as I can’t usually say no to anything with decent songs. However, this was such a dire disappointment.

First of all, the plot isn’t anything new. Tortured and wannabe musicians have been done to death in films, and sadly much better than this. The entire film drags too, it’s so slow and dull and feels like it’s on forever. Aside from the ending, it’s rather boringly predictable and can’t even be saved by Bradley Cooper. He saves this film as his performance is brilliant, but I really don’t rate Lady Gaga, I didn’t think she was good at all, I found her very irritating and other than her voice which is of course phenomenal, I really didn’t like her. I also thought the start of the film with the beginning of the whole romance was so cliched, cheesy and a little bit cringeworthy. The songs were really good and with Bradley Cooper’s performance in general they made this film at least vaguely watchable, but I would never be in a rush to watch this again. Such a disappointment.
