In honor of the 100th anniversary of the end of the first World War, I wanted to remind my readers of this book. Nine amazing historical fiction writers contributed to this beautiful collection of short stories about the end of World War I. Find out why I give this book a full five stars in my review here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2016/08/21/nine-times-november-11-1918/

The first book was definitely my favorite, but I appreciated the incorporation of Mik and Suzanna in the Chimera world. It gave the story just the right amount of levity.

Inspired by the real-life Louise de Bettignies (aka Alice DuBois, aka Lili), this novel fictionalizes one of the women behind this famous titular group of spies in German-occupied Europe during the first World War, and brings her back to post-World War II France in search of one missing person, as well as resolutions to questions unanswered for nearly 30 years. This is a fabulous book, a real gem.
Beautiful , well written, poignant and inspiring.
The first volume of the trilogy, A Scots Quair' Sunset Song was voted best Scottish book of all time, in 2005.

World-War one set drama, which I've only recently discovered was based on a children's book and on a stage show - I actually thought the stage show came later!
Anyway, this follows the trials and tribulations of the horse Joey from his birth, through his time on a farm (the work for which he is totally unsuited) and into the horrors of the First World War, with some stunning cinematography and a whole bevy of acting talent on display (including not one but two future MCU stalwarts)
