This was the kind of book that should be flipped through. Acoffee-table book, a book given to a history buff, a book to read to yourself. I found the audiobook boring and dry, and hard to focus on. Not all books are good for audio. This isn’t a reflection of the book, more the fact that it didn’t make a good audio production.

"It looked like a documentary. It’s like a found footage movie, but in the hood, and this s–t is incredible, the way he flipped it, because you could tell some of the elements were reenacted, but some of those elements look real as s–t. No lie. And this guy that’s starring in it — his last name is Snow; I don’t remember his first name — he’s not an actor. Not an actor. This is his real life. I’m tellin’ you man, this movie…"

When I initially flipped through Laon at the library, I thought it would be a much different story. I'm still glad that I read it, but the majority of book 1 was more on the "cute" side than I expected. It did change courses toward the end of book 1, when the action started happening. So, I am glad that I gave it a try. It's still worth a read since it goes fairly quickly. I look forward to reading book 2, since the story has gotten a bit darker and more complex!

Elementary - Season 4
Elementary - Season 4
2015 | Drama
Season 4 of CBS's 'modern-day' take on Sherlock (and a gerder-flipped Watson), again set in the US of A instead on in London.

Each season so far has had it's main 'focus' (for want of a better word): Sherlock himself, Moriarty, Mycroft Holmes, Kitty.

This time, it's Sherlocks father - Morland Holmes - who is the main focus of the series as a whole.

Well, perhaps focus is too strong a word: what I should, instead, be saying, is that more than a few of the episodes involve him and his various shady dealings!
