Didn't agree with the hype

I found this book slow moving, particularly the first 40%. Julianne as a character was interesting and engaging. Gabriel, however, I found hard to figure out and his character inconsistent. Some of his dialogue was difficult to believe. The premise for the story was good, although more could have been made of the forbidden aspect. I am unsure whether I will read the next ones.

I received a copy of Soul of the Sword from Harlequin TEEN (US Canada) through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was superb. It has everything! Ghosts, demons, and forbidden romance.
I really enjoyed the mythology and the characters.
It's the second book in the series but I had no problem following what was going on.
I am Really looking forward to the third book!

This was a really nice short read. I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. I liked the character development of the female lead. It had some incredible twists and turns. And who doesn’t like forbidden love? I really couldn’t put this down and devoured it in one sitting. I won’t say too much so you can enjoy it for yourself

"My grandfather brought me to see this movie on a Saturday afternoon in a theater in the suburbs of Paris. I was 11 and it was PG-13. I was petrified when the film started, feeling as though I was in a forbidden place. Since the heroine was a little girl my age, I totally identified with her and felt that I was also possessed by the devil."
