Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Sealed With A Curse (Weird Girls, #1) in Books
Sep 28, 2019
This throws us straight into the story with Celia and her sisters on trial for murdering a vampire. Only it turns out the vampire was in a bloodlust filled rage at the time and they're let off the charge. Only then they get asked to help solve the problem of the curse on the Master's family that is causing his vampires to fall into the strange rage that can only be cured by death.
During this time she meets an Alpha werewolf, Aric, who tempts her inner tiger. They are drawn to each other time and time again, causing a tension between his pack and herself. They believe as a born werewolf he should be with someone of the same ilk and as Celia's shapeshifting is as the result of a curse that she isn't worthy of him.
I loved Celia and her sisters. The could kick arse with their abilities and luckily they could heal themselves when they got hurt too. Well, Emme could heal them after they threw themselves into whatever trouble they found themselves in.
I liked Gemini and Koda--love interests of Celia's sisters. Liam always seemed to butt in at inopportune times to remind Aric of other things he should be doing instead of spending time with Celia which annoyed me no end.
I found this quite funny. It was my kind of humour and I was chuckling and grinning like a loon for most of my time reading this.
I cannot wait to read more of this series to see what happens between all our couples.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Faking It (Losing It, #2) in Books

4.5 stars
Cade may have been sweet in Losing It but I totally fell for him in this one. To see him try and be happy for Bliss when he loves her; you feel sorry for him and then Max enters his life and, well I dont want to spoil it but they are perfect for each other. Max is completely different to every other New Adult female character Ive read about (and Ive read a fair few) shes tattooed, pierced, has dyed red hair and is in a band. She is completely alternative and a tough nut but you find yourself relating to her in one way or another and I found myself quickly liking her.
Theyre story is very up and down and I found myself willing them on from early on. Sure I guess when stood together they look a little odd but who cares about what others think when you love someone? (I am such a romantic!) They are perfect for each other.
Cora has this way of writing that is both fun and emotional and it is so easy to fall under the spell she weaves. I am so going to read everything else she writes. I am most definitely a fan!
If youre looking for a fun, sexy read then I recommend this book. You dont necessarily have to read Losing It first but it would help you get the gist of where Cades head is at the beginning.
It is amazing!

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Shoot The Messenger (The Messenger Chronicles, #1) in Books
Sep 16, 2019
After finishing Betrayal by Pippa DaCosta the other day, I had an urge to read more so I went hunting for more of her books and found this one cheap and sounding rather interesting.
It starts with a bang--quite literally--as Kesh works as a Messenger, delivering a message to someone telling him he has 30 seconds to live. It doesn't go down well, as you can imagine, and all hell breaks loose as a bullet is fired and he does end up dead, with people thinking Kesh killed him. She uses her bot helper to figure out where the shooter shot from and heads up to investigate to find the weapon--one modified for fae use. The fae appears a few seconds later and threatens her, taking her bot with him and then what follows is very interesting.
I pretty much read half of this in one sitting. I did not want to put it down at all. I became very invested in Kesh's journey in trying to clear her name to then infiltrating the company Arcon to then being able to overcome her...illness? and beat the bad guy.
I found the reverse harem side of this very interesting. Kellee, the Marshal. Talen, the fae. It was slow building but I got very invested in the trio. What's going to happen next after that revelation near the end?
It's really hard to write a fitting review without giving spoilers away! I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
