Frecklesxoxo (6 KP) rated Faking Friends in Books
Feb 27, 2019
I really loved this book. It had me hooked from the start, it was funny, realistic and had the right amount of revenge in it.
The characters are really well fleshed out and you really route for Amy and Kat & Greg. I don't want to give any spoilers but I love the overall message about what friendship actually is and I highly recommend this book!
I'll be looking for other novels Jane Fallon has written :)

Mar 9, 2018
Aaron is surprised when he is asked to find a missing housewife. He gets frustrated when everyone seems to block his attempts to get answers. But when he stumbles on a dead body, things really get interesting.
I loved this book. Great characters and funny humor kept me turning pages until the end.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2238 KP) rated Stalking the Puzzle Lady (Puzzle Lady #7) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Cora has a problem. One of her many fans is stalking her, but she doesn't know who it is. And when he turns to murder, things really get out of hand. As always, I found parts of the book laugh out loud funny while other parts were highly suspenseful. If only the endings were stronger.

Listen to it instead of reading it
I didn't enjoy reading this book, it's not really my type of story. BUT when I switched to audio it had me laughing pretty hard. I enjoy the cleverness to the story, and on audio the absurdity was actually funny.
This was my first Terry Pratchett book and it was entertaining enough on audio that I will try to listen to more of his stuff!

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2238 KP) rated The Black Dove in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Big Red and Old Red are still in San Francisco when a chance encounter with a friend leads them into a murder in China town. This book has some funny parts, but it is darker than the previous two books in the series. Still, it was a fun trip through the San Francisco of 1893.

Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated Not Your Mother's Book...On Being a Stupid Kid in Books
Jun 7, 2018
(I received this book for free from the Goodreads First Reads program.)
This is an alright read. What I did was I kept it in the bathroom for everyone to read to bring about a little chuckle whilst reading this.
Some of the stories are laugh out loud funny whilst others are just kind of boring.
However, I would definitely recommend this book to at least keep in the bathroom for some light reading material =)

I didn't finish this book. We chose it for our book club, because it was on a list of funny books. However, it just, "was," for me. It wasn't terrible, but each time I set it down, there was nothing pulling me back in. Nothing shouting at me to read more. It seems like it might be a cute story. Odd and quirky, yes. It just didn't have enough to hold my interest.

fantastic read
Another amazing story from this author. This is a stand alone read but once read this book you will be wanting to read the others in this series. This book will grab your attention from the very first page. Amazing well written characters, you just fall in love with as you read. The characters were funny and had instant chemistry between them. I can't wait to read more in the future from this author.
Highly recommended

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2238 KP) rated The Penguin Who Knew Too Much (Meg Langslow, #8) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Meg and Michael are finally ready to move into their new house. Unfortunately, Meg's dad finds a dead body while digging a pool for the penguins. Wait a minute. Penguins? Yep, it's another mad cap romp with Meg and her family. I found the book very funny and laughed the entire way through. Unfortunately, the ending was a tad weak for my tastes. But that was the only flaw in the book.
