Alita: Battle Angel (2019)

Love it
Based on the manga "Gunnm", Alita: Battle Angel tells the story of a female cyborg. It takes place against a beautiful cyberpunk world called Iron City. It truly is a sight to see. But the true sight is Alita herself. She's beautifully animated & played excellently by Rosa Salazar. Chirstoph Walz was Christoph Walz. Actually, everyone was pretty good. The effects are phenomenal. The story is good as well, although there was no need for the love-story at all. It didn't move the story at all. I do hope there is a sequel made. Seeing this also makes me hopeful for a live-action version of Bubblegum Crisis in the future.

fantastic read
OMG, This is one fantastic read from this author, I just couldn't put this book down till I'd finished it. This is a mafia romance read with so much more added into the story. This is a stand alone read. This is a dark, sexy, passionate read with lots of depth to the story and characters. Amazing well written characters with very intense, hot ans steamy chemistry between them. This is one of those book you can read again and again and never get bored with it. I can't wait to read more from this amazing author in the future.

This is by far one of my favorite films of all time. A stunning and heart warming time travel love story. Where a man falls in love with a woman that can only be found in another time. Played by Christopher Reeve(Superman) and Jane Seymour, the main characters love story is not to be missed. I've actually visited the place where this movie was filmed. It took my breath away, I felt like I was part of the film when I was there. My grandmother introduced me to this movie, and I will definetely be introducing this to my future grandchildren

A kick ass Element
In the future a former marines and now cab Diver collides paths with LeeLoo who is the ultimate being and can save the world from the ultimate evil. A priest named Vitio Corneilus who leeloo needs to find becuase he is her guardian on earth and can lead them to the sacred temple. All go on a journey and pick up yet another fun character in Ruby Rod (Christ Tucker was awesome) and have to get away from the eveil scorge who is out to stop them.
The movie is filled with fun characters, great action, a good story line and plot, and one amazing singing alien diva.

Two strangers are lurking around town, and no one can quite figure out who they are or what they want. Then one of them is killed in the local ice cream shop. As his identity comes out, Charlotte has to find the killer before the case reveals secrets that will impact her future.

I have truly come to love these characters this year, as evidenced by how anxious I was to visit them again in this book. However, I did find the mystery a little slow as the book got sidetracked by several sub-plots.

Woof, I made it. I wasn't sure that I would, as this novel started out normally and devolved into a stream-of-consciousness mess. I was seriously motivated to keep going, though, because I read the rest of the series and this is the last book in it.

So I pushed on through, got to a bit of light in the tunnel, and then there was more muck. Really, Mr. Battis - this is a popular work! Or did you just feel like, "Hey, this is the end of my contract, I can do whatever I want..." That's the feeling I got, honestly. It doesn't motivate me to pick up whatever Battis publishes in the future.

Level the Playing Field: The Past, Present, and Future of Women's Pro Sports by Kristina Rutherford is a book that will inspire young athletes. It is a great book that contains information for all young athletes, male and female. It is a book that encourages an equal playing field for males and females.

This is a great look at the known and little-known names in women’s sports. With one-page interviews, historical glimpses and impassioned text this book is a must have for women of any age who have athletic dreams or just want to read about inspirational players.

I received this book from Owlkids Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Not your Grandma’s sci-fi novel
The tech future has made the biggest game in the world a red vs blue expirence akin to esports and March Madness. The world of the game is highly realized, the augmented reality in real life serves as an addictivly immersive expirence. The young billionaire who created the program has layers upon layers that our heroine, Emika, peels back as she gets to know him. She is a hacker, a coder, a bounty hunter, and an all around badass, whose past is difficult but precious to her once her life gets turned upside down and she joins the annual Warcross tournament.
A great, fast paced read.

The Republic of Gilead allows Offred to serve for only one purpose, and that is to breed. If this does not happen she runs the risk of being hanged, or being sent away to die slowly and painfully of radiation sickness.

This tale of a dystopian future, where many practices such as reading are illegal, and the struggle to create new life, brings in a class structure that rivals history was beautifully written. Atwoods use of language and descriptive imagery allows for you to immerse yourself in how it would feel for Offred.

I’m not normally a reader of these type of stories (hence the lower rating) but I enjoyed this and would certainly be reading the next instalment.
