Oh boy.

Starting this book was the highlight of my weekend, I was so excited. I should have waited until next year when I had the third one securely in my hands to have started this one.

The story that was left hanging in The Hunger Games picks right back up again, and drags you into the action from the first chapter. I’m not going to give anything away, but I will say that at times I laughed very hard, and at other times I very nearly cried. Obviously, a book that can make you cry is a good one.

Problem is, I want the third one RIGHT NOW!

From a writer’s perspective, it had a great ending. From a reader’s perspective, I’m very mad at Suzanne Collins right now. Those dreaded words almost killed me: END OF BOOK TWO. Nooooo…….

Read it. that’s all I have to say about that.

Until next time,

~Haley

Is was a great book with even more twists and turns than the first one. The only reason why I’m not giving this book full marks is the following:

1) The first two third of the book was more focused on political games. And although we were kept guessing all the way about what was happening and I had many moments of “I didn't see that coming” in my personal liking ⅔ of the book were a tiny bit more than what I would have liked.
2) Again, to my personal liking, I little bit too much self-doubting from Vin about who she is and if she should be with the man she loves or not.

Having said tha, holy moly did the last part of the book did make up for the above. I couldn't put the book down. Full of twist, battle and amazing moments! Now I can wait to read the final book in the series.

Awsome story
Not to easy but not to hard
Multiplayer quick matches
Good repayable
Expert controls are a hard to get used to (2 more)
But repetitive and simlar levels to previous games
Very expensive top tier craft to unlock
Good game all over
Absolutely joy to play on normal controls easy to fly and shoot and do all missions. But on the expert controls which for me just can not get used to. Aircraft are brilliantly designed and look so like the real thing. Nice bit if scifi with the laser weapons on the later craft unlock. Unlocking the aircraft you have to think ahead to which path you want to take. As i tried to get the su57 towards the end. Playing multiplayer is good for noobs like me most of the matched dont really score much but you get a lot ofcash to unlock more craft and part quickly.

Over all a great game

The mechanism for brewing The challenges of balancing the recipes The multiple versions of the ingredients makes for various flavours of games! (0 more)
Really fun, challenging risk-taking game
A pinch of mandrake, a few berry bombs, and a cricket. The ingredients for a perfect potion - or is it? Depending on how powerful the ingredients are, the same blend could make you a profit, or could blow up in your face!

An interesting drawing mechanism (identical shaped components in individual players bags) means you never know what you will pull out next. Playing at the same time as all the other players is mixed - sometimes a player can have a fun of luck, and get to a high scoring potion before you have even got to the teens, but the next round they might explode in the first few ingredients!

Very variable game, very fun, and very, very replayable. A game for everyones"gaming circle"!

With friends like these...
Red Dragon Inn is a very fun game; you are adventurers AFTER the adventure, spending their spare gold in the tavern on drink and gambling.

The mechanics are simple enough, and the game is varied and random, although it can become a bit of a gang-up to force someone out quickly, if they are falling behind, which is a little bit of a spoiler for the player.

You are trying to be the last adventurer standing, either by not getting as drunk, or keeping a higher constitution.

I think it would be a longer game with a few more ways to reduce your drink level, or boost your health (like a hearty snack, or a meal etc). It is a good game for a few friends getting a few games in, but it wouldn't be a main-game.

There are expansions, but from what I've seen they seem to be a bit on the expensive side.

A beautiful game with lackluster rewards
I loved spending hours in this game watching the scenery from horseback, waiting for the virtual animal I was hunting to show up, and discovering new and fascinating places. It carried the game well for a while, but once I finished the main plot, there wasn't much else that held my attention. I completed the master hunter challenges to get a different holster skin? Seems a bit weak to entice people to try to complete challenges. When you can buy some of the more impressive game items in the shops; holsters, belts, and jackets are just a weak enticement at best.
Rockstar usually does a good job of balancing the purchasable items from the earned items in games, but this one seemed an afterthought. If this was better, it would have been the best game I'd ever played.

Ora et Labora
Who woulda thought? In 2007 (way before I was gaming) amongst the many new games released at Spiel, one stuck out especially. A game where you try to build a well-balanced farm consisting of crops, pastures and growing your family. No, I am not talking about Farmville! (I get that question over and over from newbies….ugh), I’m talking about Agricola. A game that has now conjured up a slew of awards from “Best complex game” by the Spiel des Jahres to even dethroning Puerto Rico’s 5 year running of highest rated game on the Geek. Uwe Rosenberg, the designer of the now much loved Agricola, has recently released “Ora et Labora” – A hot-off-the-press / sold-out almost everywhere game that I have very quickly formed an extreme love/hate relationship with.
So the good is the game rocks!

Ticket to Ride: Europe
Ticket to Ride: Europe
2005 | Transportation, Travel
I have owned Ticket to Ride: Europe for a long time and it’s not a game that I will be removing from my collection anytime soon. The first time I played the game I was amazed at how quickly the rules could be learned. It takes little time for you to start understanding the nuances of this game. Whenever I teach any edition of Ticket to Ride to someone who hasn’t played board games for years, I tell them that I can get them to completely understand this game in three rounds. I have yet to fail at doing so. The game doesn’t bog down with complicated calculations or actions. With four simple choices for actions each turn, game play moves at a lightning pace. I have found very few people that don’t like the game after playing it numerous times. This is a great accomplishment for any game.

Kyle Keeley isn’t excited about the new library in town until he finds out that Mr. Lemoncello helped design it. It’s got to have plenty of cool stuff if the creator of so many amazing games is behind it. He is thrilled to win an overnight preview, but it turns into a contest the next day when he and the others inside the library learn they are in a contest to figure out puzzles to get out of the library. Can he do it?

I put this book off for too long. The story is fun and I got caught up in the action the further I went into the book. I’m not a puzzle person, but fortunately the characters figure things out for us. (I would be sunk in their position). Plus, I would absolutely love to visit this library. It sounds absolutely amazing.
