Some original parts (3 more)
Funniest Star Wars movie yet
Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley are superb
Visually stunning
Didn't answer a lot of important questions (4 more)
Some stupid and pointless parts (one in particular)
Can't take Kylo Ren seriously as a villain (not evil enough)
Didn't leave you feeling that the next episode would blow you away
Made me think Disney have just cashed in and are ignoring what made Star Wars great under George Lucas!

Mary Poppins Returns (2018) is an exercise in Lucasian poetry #Review
George Lucas once claimed that the many repetitive instances in the Star Wars prequel trilogy were deliberate ‘poetry’, rhyming with the original trilogy and so it is with this second Mary Poppins film. Having soothed its corporate conscience with “Saving Mr Banks”, Disney returns to the works of P L Travers to produce a checkbox musical which follows the template of the first movie to a fault...

Way too serious!
If you liked the original George Lucas classic, you may not like its very serious sequel.
Instead of cruising having a good time with your friends before you are off to college, the main characters deal with issues like the Vietnam war, protests and the peace movement.
The music is still great and there is a very funny cameo scene; however, it is not enough to save this film which just gets the tone completely wrong.

Based on George Lucas' original rough-draft for 'Star Wars', this is an interesting read not so much for the (somewhat disconnected) story, but to see how the movies grew out of the original rough draft: this is very different from those movie(s), albeit with some of the characters and place names still showing up but in a different manner - most noticeable, perhaps, in the characters of Han Solo and Darth Vader (and 'May the Force of Others be with you' just doesn't sound right, does it?).
Having read this, it's also now VERY clear that Lucas was to re-use elements of his original rough draft in the Prequel trilogy, particularly in the whole Princess-in-hiding section(s) that are included in both The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.
The art is impressive, but the dialogue/story? Not so much.

Action Serials in the 1980s? Yes Please
Released in the summer of 1981 and the idea of George Lucas after American Graffiti and the film he'd pursue with Steven Spielberg after the hit known as Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark is a film that plays upon the cliches and tricks of the classic action serials of the 40s and 50s that both men grew up on. Starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, John Rhys Davies, Paul Freeman and became the highest grossing film of 1981. Lucas and Spielberg also wanted this to be shit quick and really dirty like the action serials of the past. What we get is an adventure that has not only been regarded as one of the best action films ever made, but for some, one of the greatest movies ever made. And it truly is a tour de force. Visuals amazing. Acting is great
