2.5 stars.

I couldn't get into this story, I don't know if it had anything to do with me giving my previous read, another mm romance book, 5 stars but I failed to gel with the story.

Don't get me wrong it had some nice moments and I loved that it was set in England, though I've never been there, but I didn't feel it.

This wasn't for me.

DNF @ PAGE 45.

I read the first one a while ago and wasn't that impressed by it but decided to keep the 2nd and 3rd books to read at a later date and after starting it about a week ago, I've only made it to page 45 and have no desire to pick it up and carry on, so I'm giving in.

It's not my sort of story.

Ok family adventure
I thought I'd give this a go after seeing a trailer. It's based on Dora the explorer cartoon series but giving a live action make over with a teen cast. For a family film it's ok, quite funny in places. It's a bit like a child friendly jumanji and Lara Croft combined. Definitely one for the young kids to enjoy.

The Haunting of Hill House
The Haunting of Hill House
2018 | Horror
I tried giving this show the benefit of the doubt. The first episode wasn't terrible, but unfortunately, the subsequent episodes displayed a real lack of creativity and understanding of the novel. It basically became a checklist of modern horror cliches.

The original novel and the 1963 film, The Haunting, were wonderful because of the subtlety. There weren't any jump scares or visible monsters. It was all a question of one's sanity rather than an unambiguous haunting. This all lent to the eeriness of the story. The eeriness was the question, the not knowing.

If you've seen any run of the mill horror films in the last 10 years you know what this series is going to throw at you and it will not surprise you one bit. Despite all that I'm still watching it so it must have something that's keeping my interest. Because of that, I'm giving it a 3/10 rather than 1/10.

Much better than most of the Friday the 13th films
Slasher fan heaven
A pretty cool hack'n'slash film. Almost tongue in cheek at times, it could almost be a spoof of both series of films. The effects are cool and there is plenty of blood for gore fans. Nice to see a recent film starring these two cult film characters giving the fans what they like.

I am going to give you a bear hug, is a sweet adorable book. It has some rhymes in the book. It has animals and their cubs. This is good bedtime book for young readers. Young Readers could learn to read of this book as well.

It is done well. The pictures are well drawn. The pictures can tell the story themselves. It about giving a big hug and getting ready for bed.

There is a lot to say about this book, but I don't like giving spoilers. I will say that it is in my top ten favorite books of all time.
It gives you a disturbing sense of being both a child and an adult at the same time, equally amazed and horrified by events taking place. It makes you miss a place you've never been, while being worried you might have to go one day.

The characters are on the move in the second book of [The EMP]. Also we meet a new character, John, Max's estranged brother. The author gives each character their own voice by giving each chapter a different character. I love when authors do this because it give you as a reader a wider range of points of view and perspectives to create you own visuals of the story. On to book three.

As a fan of Alex Flinn's fairytale re-tellings, especially Beastly, I was anticipating this novel greatly. It was a unique take on the Snow White tale's Queen, Huntsman, Prince and happily ever after. As the story of Snow White is pretty well known, there's not much I can say without giving away how this re-telling decided to approach the story. Definitely recommended for those who enjoy fairy tales and happily ever afters.
