Amazing
Graceland is one of those films you remember for a long time after you've watched it. Set in the Philippines, the story revolves around Marlon Villar (Arnold Reyes) who is ambushed while driving his daughter and his boss' daughter home. Things spin wildly out of control when the kidnappers demand a ransom.

The more I thought about Graceland as a whole, the more it made me think about how well things were filmed. The film is shot in a dark style, giving it a fitting gritty feel that sets the tone throughout. Particularly effective for me were the jarring moments that occur in close quarters, powerful and shocking at the same time. There are a number of points in the film that, due to how things were shot, will stick in my head for years to come.

Graceland is jarring and real because of the conflict created. The film never really gives you a chance to catch your breath at any point. You expect things to go one way and then are thrown for another loop. There was never a point where I felt like I could relax, which is exactly the feeling I look for in these type of films.

Very interesting, original spin on your typical kidnapping story. While you empathize with the main character, you wonder if he's doing the right thing at the same time. He is faced with some tough decisions which you find out very early on in the story. You can never really tell up from down at any point. I can honestly say that I haven't really seen anything like it.

Killbox won't make any sense without reading the previous three books, and I honestly feel that I should have gone back and re-read them before starting it. I was impatient for more fresh Aguirre after finishing [b:Shady Lady|6767883|Shady Lady (Corine Solomon, #3)|Ann Aguirre|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1302689192s/6767883.jpg|6913777], though, and [b:Killbox|7843135|Killbox (Sirantha Jax, #4)|Ann Aguirre|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1282093259s/7843135.jpg|6913748] is what I had on the Nook.
I really love Sirantha Jax's strength and complexity. She has grown and changed a great deal over the four books of the series, and reflects on the changes in herself during this book. Her relationship with March has deepened, as well. The depiction of a mature relationship being tested, rather than one that is fresh and new, is a nice switch from most of the books I've read recently.
The friendship between Velith and Jax is also a treasure. It is rare to see a pure friendship between a male and a female in fiction, without any sexual tension entering the picture. We're reminded that while he is an alien, Velith has had a human lover in the past, so it isn't as if that is impossible between the two — it just doesn't occur.
The book isn't solely about relationships, of course — I just appreciate how well Aguirre depicts relationships in and around the excellent plot. That's the part that you need background to understand.
The Morgut keep coming, a bigger threat than ever: they're colonizing instead of raiding. Jax secured a treaty with the Ithiss-Tor (Velith's people), but there's no help from them coming yet. Humanity's survival is on the line. Aguirre depicts battle believably, giving a sense of the horror without dwelling too much on gore.
Lovers are torn apart, established characters die, new ones come on stage. It's impossible to know at any given moment whether anyone, including Jax, will survive from scene to scene. That certainly kept me reading, and I think it will engage you, as well.

A truly mind bending, thrilling horror
After the disappointment of Hereditary last week, and it's failure to live up to the hype of being both unsettling and memorable, I decided to revisit a movie which did manage to tick both of those boxes for me. I don’t usually get affected by movies as much as I did with Triangle - it really unsettled me for a good few days after originally seeing it on release, and even now it still holds up as just a really great movie.
Melissa George is a fantastic actress and she is just on top form here, playing a single mother of an autistic boy. She goes on a yacht trip with a group of people but a freak storm capsizes the boat. Spotting an abandoned cruise ship, they manage to make it on board where they are hunted by a mysterious hooded attacker. But the attacker seems vaguely familiar…
Triangle is like a more nightmarish version of Groundhog Day as Jess (Melissa George) loops back on herself and begins to discover that everything that's happened before has happened many, many times already and will continue to do so unless she can somehow break the cycle. Highlighting the number of times this story has already looped are some genuinely creepy scenes – the most effective and unsettling for me was where one of the seriously wounded characters staggers out on deck only to discover multiple versions of herself from previous loops, most of them dead but some still barely alive.
The movie has a great ending and immediately gets you thinking of the opening scenes of the movie and how they all connect. It twists your mind and repeat viewings definitely make it more enjoyable. And, if you feel like giving your brain an extra workout, there's plenty of in-depth analysis and theories about the movie out there on the internet too!

This book was incredible
Tristana and Peter live as roommates in a boarding house in Virginia. When they first meet, there is an instant connection between the two. Tristana, though, is too involved in her work and Peter is still working out issues of his own after the death of his brother.
Seraphina is a club girl who likes going out and finding the bad boys. Men that are willing to cheat to have a piece of her. Nathan stand on the sideline and watches her, trying to figure out why she is doing this to herself. But he is always there to step in in case there is a problem.
Will these couples ever get their lives together in order to be much happier as partners instead of singles? Will Tristana be able to break out of her shell around Peter? Will Nathan ever reveal himself to Seraphina and tell her his true feelings?

Then about half way through the book BOOM!!! The atomic bomb was dropped on the whole story. Usually when reading book, you know a twist is going to come or you can guess what is going to happen next. I didn't see this coming at all!! From that point on, nothing in life mattered except finding out what was going to happen next.
I can't say much more without giving away spoilers, but if you like a romantic novel with a huge twist, pick up this book today.

I started watching this drama since it was recommended by Netflix after I finished Strong Girl Bong Soon. First off, this is not the mostly happy or comedic love story of the aforementioned that the previous show was. It was immediately dark and gut wrenching, at times horrifying, with splashes of humor wrapped up in it. It was interesting to watch the story develop and to watch the slow progression of romance between the characters. Each episode delved deeper and deeper into a mystery which unfolded into something bigger with each and every turn. However, the ending made absolutely no sense to the storyline and felt like a rushed close to the story. If you're reading further, be aware that there are spoilers to come:
My first complaint is that Joon being erased from existence would not have stopped Ha-ram from having the ability to see the shadows of death. His existence had nothing to do with the fact that her dad was a reaper nor that she was the result of a reaper and a human creating a child. Her living a normal life after Joon has himself removed was very forced and didn't satisfy the overwhelming desire for real solid romantic progression. Also, if he were erased from existence, he should not have been able to come to retrieve her soul when she finally passed away. I was really happy with the series in general but the ending was disappointing, to say the least.
It was interesting to find out at the end that the basis for the show was based on an actual tragic incident that occured and warned about how greed and the like can lead to awful outcomes for a multitude of people. I would still recommend giving this a watch as it was a good show overall but just be ready for the disappointment of the end.

So many twists
Fantastic acting
The series just keeps getting better
This series I feels just keeps getting better and better. I loved season 3. There were definitely some episodes that stood out as the best you will see on TV altogether.
It also felt completely relevant to what is actually happening in the world today. The first episode was about how your perceived through social networking and how your judged through being rated. 1 about the dangers of downloading unknown programs that may contain viruses and another about how the technology behind VR is progressing. As a gamer that was most interesting.
As far as acting goes, the episode that really stood out was the 4th called San Junipero. I'll be honest I spent a majority of the episode confused because it seemed to be set during time period but then it all made sense. The twists and the emotion in the scenes were incredible and I was in tears by the end.
The 5th was good, it reminded me a lot of startship troopers for a while and the twists were great. Twists seems to be where black mirror thrives. I don't like giving spoilers usually so trying not to say much. It's all about the army and blindly following orders without question.
The last episode I could take or leave. It was good but I wasn't as invested as the others. It was about killer machincal bees I guess I can say.its basically a cop drama episode about someone solving a murder. Bees are not the twist to be honest.
What I love about black mirror is how all this is actually possible. It's something that could happen 1 day and that terrifies me. It's a frightening concept and It feels it's all set now but with added tech. You don't need to watch these in any order but I'd still recommend watch every episode.

Family Drama at it's best
Family Drama at it's best!!!
A powerful story relatable to today's society about family, morals, values, the treatment of others, standing up for what is right and all else a mother's love and a father's love. All We Ever Wanted will tug at your heart strings, make you think, and maybe open your eyes a little on how to treat people better. It also holds a message of how materialism can lead people astray and change people not for the better but you can always find your self again especially when you have people who love you have your back. Loyalty, compassion, standing up for what is right and love is what you will take away from this book!!!
All We Ever Wanted is about the complications modern life can bring in a society with cell phones mixed will the old school story of privileged high society and the pay check to paycheck society and how even the wealthy struggle with morals, values, and what love for a child means. It is told is told from the perspectives of Nina (Finch's mother, who is the boy accused of taking a picture of Lyla at a party where she is passed out, in a provocative pose, and a racially charged blurb written on it that got sent to kids at the prestigious Windsor high school), Tom (the single carpenter dad of Lyla, who is the girl in the photo) and Lyla. It was so well written and fascinating to read from each of their perspectives.
So what happens to these characters and others in the book when this photo gets leaked? Will there be justice for Lyla? How do the parents handle their kids? Is there a love story in the mix?
Read the book to find out!!!! You will not be disappointed!!! The books summary does a perfect job of explaining without giving away the many twists and turns and events that occur in this book!

I loved the idea of this book and it sounded just my perfect romance read. However it was so much more than I could have hoped for! I read it in one sitting and found the lovely sunny day had gone dark and wet by the time I moved from the sofa - but oh! what a day I had in the world of this amazingly beautiful love story!
The story is told over a ten year period, beginning in December 2008 which is where the Christmas part comes in. The story is told in sort of diary form from the characters perspectives and jumps many months at a time so you get the good bits whilst the story unfolds.
It sounded like it could be yet another love triangle with the obvious difficulties however it is so unlike anything I have read before. It is a book for all ages – no nasty double crossing, no detailed erotic sex scenes or nasty, bitchy comments we are so used to being part of daily lives – however, there are many tear-worthy moments in this absolutely wonderful true love story.
The author has found a way of telling a story in today’s times without having all the drama that we are so used to seeing in these types of situations. Everyone deals with events in a very mature way and forgiving way which ensures that whilst reading you can live in a feel-good bubble. I did plenty of bubbling while reading and many sharp intakes of breath at times too. It is a story of love, heartache, friendship and the unbreakable bonds.
I can honestly say I will be recommending this to everyone I speak to in person, on twitter, Facebook and anywhere else that I can. It’s amazingly beautiful – you really should go read it!

smut, in its most pure and beautiful form!
I was gifted my copy of this book direct from the authors, that I write a review was not required.
Quin and Perin write. smut. Pure and simple, down and dirty SMUT. If you don't like smut, steer clear cos let me tell ya, this here is one excellent SMUT book!
Now, I've decided that daddy kink really doesn't do anything for me, not really, but I did read The One With Daddy, since it's the first one in this little smut-fest. It's well written, but from only Dave's point of view. It's sexy, it's hot, HAWT, but it's not really my thang.
The One With The Politician, however, was right up my street! Again, told only from The Politician's point of view, it's all about him getting his rocks off since his wife ain't giving him what he really needs. And boy does he get them off! Hot, HOT HOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!
The One With The Jock? I need more of these two! I feel there is a longer story that they need to tell, a story out there, somewhere, in the minds of Quin and Perin and I hope they write it! Please write it!
Then there is a bonus read, that I also feel needs a longer drawn out tale! Reece and Elijah clearly have chemistry, even if they have yet to touch!
These four stories are NOT romances: they are purely and simply sex. And I make NO apologies for loving books such as these! Sometimes, you just need to read about two guys who have explosive chemistry getting down and dirty with each other!
Keep em coming, please God, keep these sorts of books coming at me, cos I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED them in my life!

I wish there were more player options that came with the game.
Fun and simple with a cool concept.
I received this game through a giveaway here on smashbomb I was really excited to try it out at first but I hit a bit of a snag because I didn't realize just how many people it took to play the game it's recommended 7 to 35 players usually for game nights there's about five of us but once we were able to play the game it was really fun and simple everyone had a blast and honestly we didn't want to stop playing had to finally call it quits when it just got too late. Since it is just a deck of cards it's easy to take around and bring with you to group gatherings and parties it has a set of rules on one of the cards or it gives you a web address to look up the rules on your phone which is really handy. The cards are thick and well-made the artwork is clean and simple we all really enjoyed that they give you options to make your own characters along with their own set of rules but honestly trying to come up with stuff spur-of-the-moment was a little hard. we all enjoyed the witch card a lot really tested a couple friendships there. The length of the game really just depends on how many people you have playing the most we played with was 8 so the game was good length that gave us time to play a couple rounds. But we all really would like to try and play with the most amount just haven't been able to get that many people into it though hopefully sometime soon.
