I wasn't sure what to expect from this, but the cast alone caught my eye. It slowly turns out to be a very compelling watch. A bit predictable about half way through but an intriguing story nevertheless and only 7 episodes long.

A remake that people should watch
Dawn of the dead, was a good remake of the original film. Zack snyder makes his film debut in directing with this film and he did a good job. James gunn wrote the screenolay and he did a good job. Back in 2004 these two were new in hollywood, now look at them. I liked this film lot.

"My dear friend Joan Juliet Buck has had quite a life — epic adventures in Hollywood, Paris, London, NYC and Ireland! This is her life story about the drive and allure of glamour and appearances, all the way to being the first and only American editor-in-chief of French Vogue, to her complicated relationship with her father (who was producing partners with John Houston and Peter O'Toole)."

"Cinema is most often analogized with dreaming (see Hollywood as “dream factory”), but it is also a kind of remembering: it manufactures an immediate past, and thus makes us retrospectively and prospectively older. Bergman’s Wild Strawberries starts with a dream and ends with a memory, aligning its beauty with the beauty of its seventy-seven-year-old star, the great Swedish actor and director Victor Sjöström."

"I love this drama by Nicholas Ray, shot in CinemaScope. James Mason plays a professor and family man who has a troubled relationship with over-the-counter drugs. Bigger Than Life is a modern take on U.S. society in the 1950s that was unusual at a time when Hollywood and television were invested in depicting picture-perfect nuclear families. The film is both disturbing and fascinating."

Frank Derrick is going to Hollywood, not just to pay homage to his much beloved film industry, but to see his daughter Beth, who is recovering from cancer. He's also going to help his granddaughter Laura with her plan to get Beth back together with her husband Jimmy. An extremely open advocate for a dying artform makes a film that both marks the downfall and celebrates the beauty. Having watched "Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood" twice, one digital print and one 35mm, I absolutely recommend watching the film with the actual film print projected and then watch the film a few more times to fully appreciate the magic.

The iconic masterpiece that cemented Eastwoods Hollywood career, and was one of the 1970's best vigilante cop movies to boot.
He shares screen time with a 357 Magnum and delivered the "Do you feel lucky, punk" phrase that has become synonymous with cop movies since.
Not the best film in Eastwoods career but one that sticks out in pop culture and is enduring.

I wasn't sure about this one at first because I have seen a lot of interviews where Rose McGowan comes across very strong, stern and cold... but reading this and understanding her full story and what she has been through, was a huge eye opener. You must truly be brave to stand up and speak against the bugs of Hollywood and do what she did.

Good but too Hollywood-ised
This is yet another true life story I've never heard about until watching the film, but its a fascinating and harrowing story.

Andrew Garfield gives a great performance as Desmond, and his story is truly an intriguing one. The second half of the film during the actual war was very well done, it seemed very realistic and graphic without being too ott gory. And the documentary footage at the end of the real Desmond Does nearly had me in tears.

The main problem is this film has been Hollywood-ised, with over the top and out of place acting from some actors (my other half pointed this out early on and it was something I couldn't then unsee!) to irritating slow motion and patchy CGI. If they could just tell the real story without embellishing, it'd be so much better.
