Fabulous rocker series, you'll fall in love with each character (0 more)
Another fabulous book from Terri Anne Browning!
Another fabulous book from Terri Anne Browning! I've missed a bunch of this series and man I've got to get caught up!? Every one of her books sucks me in from page one and Rocking Kin was no different! Kin is struggling after the loss of her mother, having promised to move in with her Father, a man who has been non-existent in her life until now. Moved across the country, away from the only family she knows and loves, finding herself in a house she'll never consider home, surrounded by people who are family by name alone... Thankfully she meets Lucy, her new best friend and until Jace, a ghost from her past comes back into the picture, everything seemed manageable. But now he's back and her heart can't take another hit.... Fabulous rocker series & author, incredibly beautiful story, I couldn't help but fall in love with everyone of these characters. HIGHLY recommended book, series & author!!

Shannon was lauded as the next J.K. Rowling by some but she didn't develop the same kind if following. Her books are good, not great. The world she creates, while interesting as not as compelling as others out there. In a very crowded genre, this series just failed to stand out enough.

The large garage sale Meg and Michael are throwing to clean up their new home is drawing huge crowds. Sorry, the body in that trunk isn't included. The humor had me laughing the entire way through, and I thought this was the best mystery of the series. Very well done.

Cracking Thriller
Finally got around to watching one of the most talked about TV shows of last year. It centres around the Personal Protection Officer to the Home Secretary. The first few episodes were very exciting with some great action scenes. The later episodes concentrating more on investigating various plotlines and conspiracies. It's interesting as we get a look into how the Police, Counter Terrorism and Intelligence services work. It all feels very realistic in terms of how the various teams work for the Home Office. There are plenty of twists and turns, the tension will have you gripped to your seat. Perfect for a short tense series.

Star Trek: Picard - season 2
Star Trek: Picard - season 2
2022 | Sci-Fi
Follow up to season one of Star Trek: Picard, with this series obviously taking its cue from 'Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home', in that Picard and other key characters all find themselves displaced in time, working to find their way back home.

Very much hit and miss: there were some good episodes, yes, but also some, shall we say, somewhat questionable decisions made and actions carried out throughout the course of the season.

Anchored, as always, by Patrick Stewarts Captain Jean-Luc Picard, with this season also seeing involvement by his old frenemy Q.

I think, all in all, I enjoyed this more than season one, but that wasn't a particularly high bar to clear ...

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel
2017 | Comedy, Drama
I fell so hard for this series that I binge-watched over two weekends (not an easy feat with twin four-year-olds running amok in the background).

I loved it so much that I tried to get my husband to watch it with me; I even agreed to watch it from the very beginning with him. He just couldn't get into it. He enjoyed the stand-up portions, but he didn't really get engaged with the character and her home life or enjoy the situational humor.

Part of the problem could have been that my husband's sense of humor can be quite a bit different from mine, but I also believe that much of the humor I found in this series was kind of woman-centric, based on being a married woman with children. As a married woman with children myself, I could totally relate and found the entire series entertaining.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I haven't really connected with Angus Donald's 'Fire Born' novels, finding them to be the weakest of his three series that I have read (The Outlaw Chronicles and the Holcroft Blood series).

I don't know why that is; it's just one of those things.

However, I'll still read these novels, just not be in as much of a rush to do so as with the others.

This is the third in his FireBorn series (after both The Last Berserker: An action-packed Viking adventure and The Saxon Wolf: A Viking epic of berserkers and battle) and is also, for my money, the best of those three novels. That may be because of the nature of this - a band of travellers setting out on a quest, leading to a battle and a return home, with the author himself admitting the influence of the works of JRR Tolkien on this particular entry.

NOTES OF UNSPOKEN WORDS is the first book in the Ruined & Relinquished series, although some characters from a different series also have cameos.

In this one, Casper and Reed are step-brothers who are in love with each other, although both will deny it. This leads to a traumatic relationship for both of them. When they're on the way home from a tour, Sunshiney Reed rescues a man from the street. Grumpy Casper decides to stay at Reed's home until he knows the man, Elic, can be trusted. Elic turns out to be the catalyst needed to make Casper and Reed realise just what they've got together, and how Elic can be included in that.

This story was easy to read with wonderful characters. I have to say, Cas and his protective streak was by far my favourite. His grumpiness was for a reason and I loved how he was portrayed.

One thing - if you haven't read the other series (Three Ties) as I haven't, you may get confused about all the different brothers involved and the different triads they're in. There must be something in the water!

All in all, a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait to continue with this series. Definitely recommended by me.

Ok...so I am terrified of dolls and so this one and the other original one are like my worst nightmares. I hate dolls but I loved this movie. It was simply terrifying. It was a great addition to this series. I cant tell you how many times I got chills or jumped near out of my skin during this movie. All I can say is thank goodness I was at home because the theater people would have been mad at me lol...

This is the second book in this series but the first one that I've read. This is the first book by this author that I've read and I really enjoyed it. This is a very sexy home town romance with characters that will capture your heart. This is a well written story which is set at a great pace. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
Highly recommended
