One of the best B movies of all time
I first saw this film as a midnight movie (back when those were a thing) when I worked at the cinema. I would pop in occasionally to check on the crowd and I was always amazed at what I saw and how much the audience was getting into it and laughing hysterically.

This is one of those films you can't explain to someone without it sounds utterly idiotic, but is just a lot of fun with some good horror thrown in.

Trust me when I say you will love it!

William Peter Blatty created an iconic novel that focuses on Regan, the eleven-year-old daughter of a movie actress residing in Washington, D.C. A small group of overwhelmed yet determined individuals must rescue Regan from her unspeakable fate, and the drama that ensues is gripping and unfailingly terrifying.

Been years since I first read this book! Still scared the life out of me. A few times I've done a Joey and put it in the freezer. I keep expecting to find my 6 year old with a spinning head and vomitting green crap. I love the writing it's a true classic horror story.

Sometimes I feel I'm trapped in a recurring nightmare with an endless succession of Amicus-style horror anthologies. This one sticks nice and close to the formula as a bunch of nasty people are shown their eventual comeuppances by the movie's host: there's an evil Santa Claus, zombie versions of some well-known actors, another appearance by the Amicus crawling hand prop, and so on.
By no means actually scary, but good camp fun; the downturn in the British movie industry means this films like this one can attract really impressive casts. You nearly always know what's coming next, but it's pacy and varied and entertaining stuff.

"Horror of Dracula. First of all, the match up of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee was so brilliant. They were so great together. Plus, the ending — I hate to say this, because you’ve to see it — when Dracula has Van Helsing at his mercy, and the sun’s come up outside, and Van Helsing tears down the curtains, so the sun comes streaming in, and then takes two candlesticks and forms a cross. It’s just so cool. And I think that’s the first time anybody ever did that in a movie; now they do all kinds of versions of that thing. But I just thought that was pretty brilliant writing."

"I saw it when I was 13 and it had an amazing impact on me, I couldn’t believe something was so funny and so smart. The level of writing is so crazy; it’s a continual inspiration. It blew my mind. I was at home babysitting my younger siblings. My parents were out dancing, and it came on at 1:30 AM. I would watch Saturday Night Live, and it was on after. I thought it was a horror film to start because it’s dark and there’s the pop-pop-pop and there’s smog. In the movie, that’s their preamble thing that I missed, so I didn’t know it was a comedy."

Murders From The Soup Kitchen
Bowery at Midnight- is decent movie. The plot is intresting and Bela Lugosi. And thats pretty much it. Nothing really speical.

The Plot: Criminology Professor Brenner (Bela Lugosi) uses his soup kitchen as a front for a gang committing robberies and murders.

Following The Corpse Vanishes, Monogram Pictures announced it would make two more Bela Lugosi films, Night of Horror and Torment. These projects ended up being replaced by Bowery at Midnight and The Gorilla Strikes (which became The Ape Man).

Like i said nothing speical. The only good things was a intresting plot and Bela Lugosi.
