Obsessed book reviews (49 KP) rated Starfish Moon (The Brides of Blueberry Cove, #3) in Books
May 7, 2019
this was a lovely read, I really enjoyed the story and loved the characters. the author has a way of writing so that you end up falling in love with the characters. the author writes the right amount of chemistry between the characters and adds in humour for a good balance. defiantly a fab read

Solid Classic Horror Homage

Really solid non-sequel sequel that hits a few high notes and reaquaints us with a couple of old characters. Really think that Michael has now had a good send off and he should be left to rest now.
No more obnoxious re-imaginings and no more cringeworthy ways to bring him back *yawn* again...

Loz Hughes (80 KP) rated Dracula - Dead and Loving It (1995) in Movies

So bad it was kinda good.
This was a spoof on dracula films and it was so bad I actually really liked it, it was lighthearted, amusing and a bit slapstick.
Definitely one to watch with a bit of alcohol in the system lol, doesnt require brain power to follow the storyline.

Oh what a twist! Fabulous book.
I loved the characters and how everything fit together nicely. There was the right balance of humour and drama, the right balance of dialogue versus descriptive prose and all round very well written.

Laura Doe (1350 KP) rated Deadpool 2 (2018) in Movies

If you liked the first deadpool, you’ll like this one too. Just as funny as the first one and brings back some of the favourite characters from it too, like Dopinder the taxi driver and Teenage Negasonic Warhead, as well as some new characters who are just as lovable.
I’d definitely prefer a lot more marvel films to have the same sort of humour in them.

David McK (3562 KP) rated QI: The Book of General Ignorance: The Noticeably Stouter Edition in Books

If you've ever seent he quiz show QI, you pretty much know what to expect: lot's of well known 'facts' that are shown to be wrong, usually due to semantics.
This is a collection of such articles from the show, interspersed by 'comic' quotations from the participants - quotations which, for the most part, I found to be painfully unfunny. Maybe I just don't get the humour shown ... ?

Great conversation
An absolute gem. Comedians talking passionately about something that makes them laugh. Really knowledgeable hosts who see the funny side and expand upon their guests' ideas. The conversation flows naturally as they unpack the humour from a wide range of sources - books, LPs television, films, cartoons. Not always the usual suspects. Have come out of every episode having laughed and having learnt something.
