Realistic not Hollywood style thriller
Luke Smitherd has done another great job in bringing to life characters facing inexplicable terror. Chris, the protagonist, is both humorous and human - making misguided choices based on the little experiences that he had. The man in white is a brilliant villain, odious through his fake good humour and his macabre outlook of life. I really wish we could've found out how and why the man in white chose his victims and not just just how he picked his pawns. Would recommend!

A Great Biopic
You can't really go wrong with Danny Boyle and Michael Fassbender. This is a fascinating take on Jobs' life and an intriguing idea to have it focus on a few major events as opposed to his entire life. Fassbender puts in a fantastic performance with a great supporting cast, and Aaron Sorkin's script is packed with wit and humour. My only criticism would be it is slightly slow paced at times.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2) (2008)

A very good film with some great scenes, characters in it. The market scene with so much going on and so many different creatures to admire is really good. Despite the much bigger budget, clearly seen in the SFX alone, I'm not sure this has the same impact as the first which was more of a sleeper hit. Still it is a feast for the eyes, it has some cool fight scenes and plenty of humour too. More of the same from the first really.

Sometimes the trouble is that hearing a film is very good gives you high expectations, that's what happened with me this time and I have to say I was left disappointed. I felt this film was ok, I did like a lot of the humour but nothing really stood out for me and I wouldn't want to watch it again. I raved about it to my husband saying how it was supposed to be REALLY funny and REALLY good but he didn't think much of it either.

An epic journey worthy of Brooks and Tolkein
This is my favourite one of the DT series so far. It really was an epic journey. I loved the characters and how verything came together. King's sense of humour is there throughout the story; the emotional journey is as epic as the physical one.
I couldn't put this one down, I found myself glued to every word and despearate to know what was going to happen. I can't wait to read the next one.

Not terrible but should have been better
I didn't like the voice in this and that it was meant to be both funny and scary but really failed in doing either. It is more enjoyable to watch then some of the zombie films that are out there but with the cast list it was really disappointing to watch (was expecting far more humour).

An ok film to watch if nothing else on but there are loads more zombie films that are better to watch.

You know what you get with Bay movies and this one doesn't completely disappoint.
His films are always on a grand scale and will have the prerequisites including massive explosions and a wafer thin plot.
Of note is what can only be described as sublime animation of the robots which is breathtaking and the level of humour is entertaining however the flaws outweigh the good points.
Another point to note...Shia LeBouf doesn't annoy as much in his first outing...Downside...good things never really last forever.
