Fun Action Comedy
This seemed to spring out of no where, only spotted a trailer this week. Apparently Netflix's biggest budget film to date.
A mix of heist, action, comedy caper as interpol and the FBI try to catch the world's most wanted art thief.
There is a good balance of comedy and action as we tour several destinations around the globe in a treasure hunt for 3 jewelled eggs said to have belonged to Cleopatra. The main trio and the chemistry between them when all on screen together is the real highlight.
Overall a bright, breezy, fun film that was enjoyable if not actually raising the bar for these sort of films.

If you know anything about Gods and Goddesses of any pantheon, then you will know that things are never smooth and simple. Instead, confusion abounds until such time as it makes sense. This is how I would describe Hunter Sacrificed. It is a short prequel that nevertheless manages to impart a huge amount of information. You learn about Minerva and Arawn, the Triad, and how the Wild Hunt comes to be.

Although this was short, it was very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I found. This is enough to whet your appetite and definitely leave you wanting more. Definitely recommended.

The Black Chalice (Revelations 1)
By Lauretta Hignett
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A cursed woman, destined to bring about the apocalypse. The obsessed zealot, determined to hunt and kill her.

And the demon who wants to save her.

It's the end of the world, but not as we know it.

Well that was different! I liked the concept the characters were actually likeable. Eve is definitely a breath of fresh air when it comes to female leads she’s funny without it being forced and her outlook on life is awesome. What’s more complicated than the end of the world? Throw a love that can never be in maybe.

Come for Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt; stay for the flying cow
Disaster movie - of a sort - from 1996, that is probably best remembered for 2 words: "flying cow".

This follows the exploits of a group of storm chasers - who really only act as ciphers to move the audience from one breathless set piece to the next - who are doing, well, just that: trying to get in front of a Twister to launch scientific equipment up into it to further their understanding of the same, and so that they can better predict just when and where one is going to hit.

Storm Chasers, apparently, are a real thing. Why you'd want to be one is beyond me.

Rush (2013)

Today we bring you the latest from dircetor Ron Howard. A movie about what is considered to be one of the greatest rivalries in sports history and to this day, the greatest rivalry in the history of Formula 1 racing … the biographical action film RUSH. Released in the United States on September 20th RUSH tells the story behind the 1976 Formula 1 racing season and the intense rivalry between britsh racing champion James Hunt and austrain racing champion Niki Lauda. Staring Chis Hemsworth (Thor, Red Dawn) as Hunt and Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Bastards, The Bourne Ultimatum) as Lauda, RUSH follows the two racing legends from their first confrontation at a Formula 3 race at England’s Crystal Palace circuit in 1970 to their accention to Formula 1 racing, to Lauda’s near-fatal carsh at the German Grand Prix and finally to the final race of the season, the Japanese Grand Prix.

What makes this movie different from other stories about the two rivals, is that it is told from the viewpoint of Niki Lauda. Written by legendary screenwritter Peter Morgan, Lauda had been approached many times by studios and writers for nearly 30 years wanting to make a movie from his point of view. Lauda had also been hesitent to make a movie for many years in part because of the death of James Hunt in 1993 at the age of 45 and felt that it wouldn’t have been ‘right’ to make a movie without his rival’s input. After meeting with dircetor Ron Howard, reading Peter Morgan’s screenplay, and with the blessing of James Hunt’s family Lauda finally agreed the movie should be made and i’m here to tell YOU my fellow movie-goers that the 30 years was worth the wait. With a supporting cast inclding Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara, and Piefranscesco Favino it is apparent that the studios were serious about making this movie and making it right. Hemsworth and Bruhl definately deliver the goods portraying Hunt and Lauda and I will not be surprised if both of them recieve awards for their potrayals is the two leading characters in the movie. RUSH is different from alot of other movies because there is no REAL villian. It tells the story of two very different competitors in a sport where death is one small mistake away who couldn’t stand one another but at the sametime, when all is said and done they respected each other. It’s the story of two heros who pushed themselves to the limit .. sometimes losing themselves in the process and having to come to terms with the fact that they were not invinvcible.

I for one enjoyed the movie more than any other movie so far this year and I would highly recommend it to you all! Go and see it! Rotten Tomatoes gives it an 89% rating and i’m giving it 5 out of 5 stars! And with talk of the movie being nominated for awards ALREADY … How can you say ‘NO’ to recommendations like that!? It is rated R though so leave the kids at home.

This movie is based off of the book of the same name and matches it for most of the major plot points. In short, the story follows Wade Wilson, an egg hunter (Gunter for short), on the search for a virtual Easter egg that unlock control over the virtual reality known as The Oasis. In a scavenger hunt fashion, there are clues and trials that Wade must figure out and overcome in his attempt at such a coveted prize.
The film follows the major points of the book, but does change the clues and trials so its not the same exact story, which I feel is the purpose of film adaptations. However, as with many sci-fi films, majority of interest here is of the world that is constructed which is quickly glossed over. To be fair, how much more do we really need to than people are addicted to virtual reality and want to have more power in it? But the issue is the sort of background that is left out that can leave the soley film consumers a bit confused or leave more questions. As for the actual content of the film, it is a real nostalgia trip for those who enjoyed 80's pop culture and tries to include more recent fandoms such as Overwatch and Halo. Sadly, the viewer doesn't really take part in the treasure hunt as mystery and adventure films try to do. The clues are obscure and related to the creator of the hunt, so there isn't much guessing at what a clue means until it is flat out explained.
However, with the audience participation aside, it is a good sci-fi adventure that utilizes a good blend of motion capture technology and cgi work. It explore a good variety of worlds, environments, and character models that make this film noteworthy of that aspect of production. It leaves quite the impression and I know I looked up how much virtual reality cost after I was done.
In short, it was a good overall production in terms of tools utilized, but lacked a little bit of story in an attempt to cram a different world and rule set while trying to make a complete adventure and story arc. I recommend viewing it at least once, but doesn't really need to be viewed more than that.
