It's Nick & Amy's 5th year wedding anniversary. Amy is up early making crepes and she has prepared their annual treasure hunt. After Nick arrives at work, he receives an unusual call from his neighbor; the front door to his house is open and Amy appears to be gone.
The police investigation turns up blood all over the kitchen floor and overturned furniture in the living room. But there is something very strange about this "crime scene."
After weeks of searching, there is still no sign of Amy. Where is Amy? Who took her and why? The search will turn up lots of interesting and strange information about this couple.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated Lost and Fondue (A Cheese Shop Mystery, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
I'm not sure why I waited so long to read this second book in the series. The characters were a tad overwhelming at first by their number, but I quickly had them all figured out. The plot slow down a tad in the middle, but the end result was great. I'll definitely be back for the next slice.

Awix (3310 KP) rated Conan the Barbarian (1982) in Movies
Feb 22, 2018 (Updated Feb 22, 2018)
Dodges most of the more tedious fantasy-movie cliches by being about a straightforward hunt for revenge rather than a quest for plot coupons. Arnie isn't quite up to portraying Conan's inner life, but hits people with an axe very capably. It's all very staunchly right-wing - opens with a quote from Nietzsche and continues in a similar vein - but the results are campy more than actually problematic. Bombastic score from Basil Poledouris is a major plus.

David McK (3557 KP) rated Star Wars: Darth Vader - Dark Lord of the Sith, Vol. 1: Imperial Machine in Books
Jan 30, 2019
As such, he is given a mission to hunt down (yet another) Jedi who escaped Order 66, defeat that Jedi in combat, then take and corrupt that Jedi's Kyber crystal in order to create his own lightsabre, with the signature red glow of those belonging to the Sith.
All of which he manages to do.
Even if - shockingly - at one point that Jedi seems to be more powerful than Vader himself, both defeating him and throwing him off the top of a cliff.
However, like a bad penny (or smell), Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith keeps reappearing ...
