Kristina (502 KP) rated Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian in Books
Dec 7, 2020
I was under the impression Grey would be all three Fifty Shades kind of thrown into one book, only in Christian's point of view. That misconception was my own fault. I was still disappointed, though. I felt bored reading most of it, especially because it felt like there wasn't much difference between reading it and reading Fifty Shades again. There weren't many scenes without Anastasia, so it was almost as if everything was just flipped, instead of feeling like I was experiencing it for the first time. Also, it was nowhere near as "down and dirty" as other readers made it out to be - at least, not in my opinion. Overall, I wasn't too happy with Grey.
Kim Pook (101 KP) rated Horrible Histories: The Movie (2019) in Movies

Not too bad
I remember reading horrible histories when i was in school, i have never watched the tv series though so wasn't sure what to expect. At first i thought it was incredibly cheesy, it was like watching a pantomime. But like being at a pantomime i eventually got into the storyline and found the songs catchy, there was a few famous faces including kim cattrall and warwick davies.
It wasn't too bad a film but i feel it could have been so much better aimed at adults rather than family.

3.5 stars.
I was a bit bored for the first 40 or so per-cent but then we forwarded 4 years and things got interesting. I don't want to give too much away but there's a twist near the end and I was surprised in a good way.
I'm still slightly confused about the shark though? Was it there for a reason or not?

Hazelita (7 KP) rated Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) in Movies
Nov 18, 2018
My partner didn't like it because of the humour and language which he thought wasn't faithful to the original Star Wars movies - it was too different for him but I personally thought it was enjoyable and I loved Kylo Ren's character. I just found that Princess Leia scene a bit cringy to watch.... not sure what they tried to do there but it was weird.

Nicole Fall (34 KP) rated Mister X (Frank Quinn, #5) in Books

This book was not a book that I couldn't wait to pick back up. The characters were easy to figure out and predict as well as the ending. There was too much 'decorative' writing rather than 'meat and bones' to the book. However, I will consider reading another book from this author again.
Dana (24 KP) rated CivilWarLand in Bad Decline in Books

I really enjoyed some of these stories. Even though I don't normally enjoy reading satire that much, some of these stories were really interesting. My favorite story was the novella "Bounty." The idea behind the story was cool in the fact that there were "freaks" and "normals" in conflict with each other was reminiscent of other, more recent stories I have read. I loved how there were supernaturalish aspects to each of the stories was pretty cool too! I would recommend this to people who don't always like reading satire, but want to get into it at some point. Overall, it was an interesting read.

This would have been better as a novella. I felt there was more filler than normal and it was odd that she had two books building to something, I expect that the next one will be something large. I'm not going to lie I did think of Monty Python while reading this book so there were some unintentionally (?) funny parts. There is the usual Mercy wit so that's good Picks up not too long after Storm Cursed. I enjoyed this book but it wasn't my favorite.
Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2) in Books

I was a bit disappointed in this book. I expected it to be as good as the first, and I was let down. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but it didn't leave me feeling all warm & fuzzy like I usually do when I read a good book.
I felt the pacing was a bit slow. There was too much wording and not enough action like there was in the first book.
The characters seemed fairly dull in this book. Anna was hardly in this book which I also didn't like. The only character I really liked was Jestine.
It was a good idea for a plot but it wasn't executed well enough in my opinion. The story seemed to drag in a lot of places.
However, the ending is pretty good, as are the last few characters.

I was really looking forward to watching this because it has some good voices in it( Jamie Fox, Tina Fey and Phylicia Rashad) but I was disappointed. I saw it when it first came out on Disney + so I really don't remember a lot about it, just that it was confusing at the end and a bit boring. I did like Jamie Fox's character and his Mother ( Phylicia Rashad) but other than that the story was too out there for me.
