Real life
Violence, drugs, suicide. Welcome to the world of a prison doctor
The book is a real life account of a prison doctor who is treating patients in UK prisons. It tells of the violence, drugs and heart ache of the inmates and how she helps and copes with the day to day of prison life. Parts of it are truly disturbing but other parts made me smile. It is very moving and yet very readable

Katrina Hodge is an inspirational kind-hearted woman. I have to admit, when I first came across her book I thought she'd be up herself and like the majority of Miss.......! However, I began to enjoy her attitude and nature within a few pages. There are some mistakes in the book, perhaps an editing fault?!
Still, it was refreshing to learn all what goes into making a winner. I have to say: "It sure isn't my thing!"

A Modern Classic
Very few albums manage to successfully capture the mentality of a generation and give so many people something to care about. This is what the Stone Roses did in 1989 with their eponymous debut album.
This album is more than just music, it is a feeling that was captured and put to music. Inspirational to no end and iconic to this day. An absolutely fantastic first album that deserves its legacy and is still relevant in today's musical landscape.

Honestly, who does not love this book. I, sadly, didn't even know about this book until I was in high school but I immediately went out and bought it for my daughter when I first learned I was pregnant. I have since carried on traditional and each of my kids have their own copy.
This book is an appropriate gift for baby showers, graduations, "milestone" birthdays, etc. And if you haven't read it yet then what are you waiting for?

"An inspirational, life changing book about an amazing personal journey. I first read it just as I was starting college, and I’d grown up in a pretty poor, rough part of London. At the time I was heavily into music by Public Enemy and loved Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing. So listening to Chuck D and Spike Lee talking about Malcom X motivated me to search out the book as I wanted to learn about the man for myself."

"This is a set of six volumes and it’s expensive — but worth it for life. Van Gogh’s letters, along with the letters of Cezanne, are always inspirational to read. His pursuit of reality is thrilling, his lack of confidence, fears, doubts, excitement, his passion for nature and intensity when he talks about color, and the future of art drive you and help you accept your follies as an artist. And he did it all in such a short period of time."

Lyrical look at America's racialised society
James Baldwin was truly an inspirational artist and author in American history. He puts forward very bluntly the issues that the country faces in terms of it's attitude towards black bodies as the body is political. It's rather depressing that after 50 years the US still has not addressed these issues. It's a haunting and poetic documentary. His line about how black people are 'castrated' throughout the country just in different ways is deeply honest and deeply disturbing.

After reading this book I began to find out more about Malala's life. It made me feel like I was with her in the story and I felt like crying at some point because of how she described growing up in a culture where girls can't go to school. (0 more)
Amazing book!
Reading this book opened my eyes to how girls in this modern world have no opportunity to go to school but with Malala being strong and inspirational, many of them still have a chance.

Emotional.
Jaycee Lee Duggard is a inspirational, brave and beautiful person and this book really sheds a light on what this poor woman went through. If you have read the story of her in the papers or watched documentaries, you should definitely read this. It's something I can't say I enjoyed for obvious reasons but I think it's written beautifully and more people should see why I think Jaycee is one of the strongest women I have ever experienced.
