Woof, this movie was painful to watch. The only reason I wanted to watch it was because Jon Hamm was in it. The story line was really lame, boring and predictable. The action was ok, but it wasn't enough to keep me interested. I was so bored, I switched the channel to watch Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, and didn't bother watching the end.

This movie was almost torture to watch, in fact, I don't even think I made it to the end. I feel like this movie was made for a different demographic than I belong to, because I thought everything and the situations were just lame.
The only redeeming factors were Gal Gadot and Jon Hamm. Other than that, this was a boring, laughless stinker of a film.

I had the advantage of not having read this book, so I was able to go into the series with completely fresh eyes, and I enjoyed it very much. David Tennant is a terrific demon. Michael Sheen has some truly funny moments. I could have used more Jon Hamm. "I'm the archangel fucking Gabriel" was one of my favorite lines of the entire series. Overall a fun show!

Baby Driver is a fun and relatively low-stakes crime caper that seems to exist. purely for the ride. It's underwhelming pay off is forgivable considering everything else that's on the table, from Edgar Wrights signature sense of style, to its exciting action pieces, to a tight display of well crafted needle drops. The bottom line is - any film that features Jon Hamm psychotically firing a machine gun in perfect rhythm with Hocus Pocus by Focus deserves a round of applause.

Being a huge baseball fan, I was intrigued by the story of two hopeful cricket players being converted to America's pastime.
Jon Hamm is great as an American recruiter sent to India in an attempt to bolster his teams pitching prospect pipeline. Seemingly hopeless upon arrival, JB (Hamm) conducts a sort of makeshift tryout that brings interest from all over the area. A few potential candidates show enough promise to pursue, and teach the game of baseball.
The story that follows is quite amazing and very interesting. The follow up on the real life versions of the characters portrayed in the film shows just how accurate (of course some artistic value is added) the story is and what an exceptional reality those involved lived.
Great movie for any baseball fan or a fan of a feel good story that doesn't know boundaries.

Sarah (7798 KP) rated Black Mirror - Season 2 in TV
Aug 28, 2017
This is by far the strongest and best series so far of Black Mirror. As always, each episode is a dark and intriguing tale of technology, social media and pop culture. The Waldo episode is probably the weakest out of the 4, but even that is still good. There's a fantastic cast with Domhall Gleeson, Hayley Atwell, Jon Hamm and Rafe Spall and some brilliant storylines. The Christmas episode is by far my favourite, and a welcome change to the usual sickeningly sweet Christmas shows.
Erika (17788 KP) rated Beirut (2018) in Movies

So, this was billed as a 'taut political thriller'; I'm not sure about that. Maybe it's because I was comparing it to 7 Days in Entebbe the entire time.
Anyway, Jon Hamm plays Don Draper, sorry, I mean, Mason Skiles, who's an alcoholic (see, Don Draper), and is brought back to Beirut after a former friend is kidnapped.
It was a little predictable, I basically figured out the plot in the first 10 minutes, and I'm sure a non movie buff could do the same. It wasn't excellent, it was just good.

Bostonian916 (449 KP) rated Richard Jewell (2019) in Movies
Aug 4, 2020
I presume that most people have all but forgotten the crazy story of Richard Jewell and the events surrounding the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bomb. This retelling is done very well with a cast that fires on all cylinders.
There are some times that the moving gets a bit slow, but it almost has to in order to tell the story it's conveying.
Sam Rockwell deserves far more credit that he received for his role, and Kathy Bates might have been shunned for a supporting actress award, as well as Jon Hamm for supporting actor.
If you have any interest in history or events from American (or world) history, this movie is definitely worth the time.

Amazing Soundtrack
Damn that kid can Drive!!!!
I'm not a huge action fan. I usually only watch horror films. But when one of my favorite directors suggests a movie. I check it out. And Joe Lynch, you didn't disappoint.
Baby Driver had me, quite literally biting my nails and sitting on the edge of my seat.
The cast put forward an effort that can not be denied. It was cool to see Jon Hamm play a real mother fucker of a bad guy. Going balls deep into a performance that had me begging for his demise.
Kevin Spacey was asking as always.
And Ansol Elgort played the title roll with so much emotion that you could completely feel what he was feeling on screen.
And besides all those facts. The soundtrack kicked total ass.
Watch it fellow Smashbombers... it will not disappoint.
