What a great laugh. Where other spy spoof films have focused too much on the comedy and not bothered with a decent story, this feels more like a decent spy film with a good amount of comedy injected in.
Jude Law plays pretty much every role he has ever played, as does Jason Statham - to hilarious results.
Peter Serafinowicz is great as an Italian sex pest (like a young Berlusconi).
Melissa McCarthy is simply brilliant in this film, at times soft and sensitive, then hard and uncompromising.
Even Miranda Hart doesn't manage to spoil it!

The Outbreak
With all of this news about the coronavirus, i thought i reviewing this movie. This came out when the swine flu was around, so back in 2011. When the trailer came out, it looked really scary, because it was about a deadly virus speading. Now thats happening right now with the coronavirus. Its scary, but if you wash your hands with soap and water/hand Sanitizer, keep away from sick people, cover your mouth when you snezze and dont touch your eyes, you will be okay.

Anways to the plot:

When Beth Emhoff (Gwyneth Paltrow) returns to Minnesota from a Hong Kong business trip, she attributes the malaise she feels to jet lag. However, two days later, Beth is dead, and doctors tell her shocked husband (Matt Damon) that they have no idea what killed her. Soon, many others start to exhibit the same symptoms, and a global pandemic explodes. Doctors try to contain the lethal microbe, but society begins to collapse as a blogger (Jude Law) fans the flames of paranoia.

It has a all-star cast: includes Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, and Jennifer Ehle. Plus Steven Soderbergh directed it.

If you like medical action thriller film, than you will like this film.

When I saw the trailer for this film, I knew immediately that I had to see it. While I was entertained by this film, I don't feel as though it actually had a climax in the plot. I kept expecting something to happen, and nothing ever did. Natalie Portman is one of the best parts of the film, and she's maybe in it for half of the time. I was pretty disappointed when this was the case, Jude Law had more screen time than her.
I was entertained ultimately, but the seemingly lack of plot was slightly disappointing.

I thought this movie was fine. I loved the chemistry between Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. I loved the use of color towards the beginning with Rachel McAdam's dress - it made her stand out in the blandness of everything else.

I just thought that the film was kind of slow and I'm not sure the plot made a whole lot of sense. It feels like this movie was just a stepping stone for the second one, to set up Moriarty and Holmes' rivalry.

It was a fine film. A good way to pass time, just not one I'll probably ever watch again.

The cast particularly, Eddie Redmayne as Newt scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald Opening action sequence was cool. Cgi was fantastic (1 more)
The world feels magical and the nostalga of being back in the wizarding world is always beautiful.
Grindelwald was underused considering it's called The crimes of grindelwald. The plot was messy and sloppy. Too many flashback sequences including two back to back sequences that lasted 20 minutes (1 more)
The big plot twist/reveal at the end makes no sense from what i know from the Harry Potter lore. Lack of Continuity Action sequences weren't that impressive
A disappointing entry in the Harry Potter franchise

Had to check this film out a few times and each time I kept finding more and more that I loved and didn't notice the first two viewings. This film sets up the story for the next three films. Depp is fantastic, Jude Law is phenomenal, and I'd say Eddie is better this time around! Baby Nifflers is always a big plus, and I would love to see Ilvermorny in the next few films, enough of Hogwash haha! Amazing film, I'm excited for the rest of the series!

Very interesting take on future
Being aware that this movie was made in 1997, I can now see how ahead of its time it was, and still is. The perfectly imperfect world, where genetics can assure your children are perfect doesn't necessarily mean that they will be up to the task. When a child that was predicted to die by the age of 30 manages to achieve what a "perfect product" is not able to, it leads us to assume that maybe, just maybe, everything is possible.

I loved the fact that this movie sparked a very long and thorough discussion between me and my boyfriend.

*After reading the screenplay, I'm knocking this rating down.

I am completely torn on this one, I liked some parts, but hated others. I also really can't stand Johnny Depp, and I rolled my eyes to myself every time he was on screen...
In my book, Jude Law was playing Richard Harris' Dumbledore, not... Michael Gambon (Don't even get me started on Gambon: 'Did you put your name in the goblet of fire, Harry?' Dumbledore asked CALMLY). So, it was a good way to go.

I did not like the way they went with some characters, namely one, who was rumored to go to Grindelwald's camp. Making a likeable character slightly deranged was irritating. There was a name drop at Hogwarts that had to have been a relative, unless the original character became an adult professor before she was technically born...

However, the possible recons that occurred didn't mess with canon as badly as that terrible Cursed Child mess.

It was largely predictable, and even the end, it was all foreshadowed, and not in a good way. The best bits were of Newt with the beasts... I liked Eddie Redmayne, as always, but can we please stop calling these movies Fantastic Beasts? 6 for him and the Niffler alone.
I wanted to largely stay away from a comparison, but I feel like Rowling is going the George Lucas route. And, that's not a compliment.

GOOSE
Forget what the review bombers say. This movie was fantastic, an excellent and well planned out entry to the MCU. First off, excellent tribute to Stan Lee at the beginning, well done. Brie Larson was absolutely stunning as Carol Danvers, managing to capture and show the brooding and serious side of Captain Marvel, as well as the witty and humourous side to her. I loved young Nick Fury way more than I do the present day Nick Fury. Ben Menhdolsen, Jude Law, and Annette Bening were absolutely fantastic as their characters. The real star of the show though: GOOSE THE CAT. OH MY WORD, GOOSE. STOLE EVERY SCENE HE WAS IN. The Agents of SHIELD fan in me wanted more Coulson, but I was okay with his screentime.
