Selma (2015)
Selma (2015)
2015 | Biography, Drama, History

"It’s a pretty recent movie but Selma, the Ava DuVernay movie from a couple of years ago. I just can’t remember seeing a movie and it being so clear to me that it was a masterpiece. I mean, I felt similarly about Moonlight this year — I was just like, “Oh, it’s incredible.” But usually movies take a minute to settle with me, and as I was watching Selma I just was like, “This is a masterpiece. This is an incredible movie.” The story is so powerful and the performances are incredible. And it’s made with such clarity and such passion. I think she’s one of the great film makers."

Needing to go to specific buildings to gain energy is kind of annoying.
Prefer Pokémon Go
I was really looking forward to this game as I adore Harry Potter but it just feels abit more complicated than Pokémon Go and unfortunately has not given me the same sense of novelty or nostalgia.I do like the fact that it is not just Pokémon Go with Harry Potter creature's instead, but I do find it a bit complicated. Its harder to play on the Go than Pokémon Go is.

"I got into Roachee through the Sith Lord tune with the Prodigy backing and then I started to try and find other stuff but it's hard because he's not really done a lot. He did a bit of time in prison and then came out, so I don't know what his relationship is like with people like Wiley and that, but he seems to be quite an underdog. He's not done anything for a while I don't think. I like the crapness of what he does, when he's like, ""Yeah, I make a pass at your missus, I don't care,"" it doesn't even rhyme. ""I bring animals round your manor,"" all that. It's just not very good some of it, but that's what appeals. Trim is like that too, he trails off a bit, when he's talking about the solar system. It's like, what the fuck is that? That appealed to me as well as the beats. The 'Bad Boy' tune is a classic to be honest, I might be shot down for that. 'Dirty Danger' is on there as well. This album came out in 2012. Grime wasn't really being noticed around that sort of time, it had fallen out of favour. It had come up with Wiley and disappeared really fast."

GoodFellas (1990)
GoodFellas (1990)
1990 | Crime, Drama, Thriller

"I read Wiseguy, the book that Goodfellas is based on, before I knew that Goodfellas existed. I was, like, 15 and found it in the school library. Then at the end it was a footnote that was like, “Oh by the way, Scorsese made this into a film.” At 15 or 16, I saw Goodfellas for the first time. Was mesmerized. And then also, it was the first time I probably watched a movie or a film with the beginning of an adult perspective on things. Where it wasn’t just participating in the story, but seeing what a masterpiece it is that someone created that. That those performances individually were so fantastic that the story, the shots, the music… The first time I understood the elements of film coming together, being a conscious choice for those things to be in the film, and then the effect that it had on me. As opposed to being a kid and a viewer, and being like, “I like that thing.” I’m not unique in this, I think, but I can go back every six months and watch that movie and still be so excited to see it. I’m always ready to watch it. I wanted to be Henry Hill as a kid. Growing up in the country with no excitement around us, I wanted to be half Irish, half Italian, and adopted by this family I could never be a part of. That whole scene. I just wanted that life. Or as a kid, I thought I wanted that life."

How much time have you got? (0 more)
Why why why...??
So, another Freaky Friday film so to start with you know you're in for a hit and miss time. Actually really like the main cast in other films and I'm shocked that I'm unhappy about a film with them in.
So didn't want to see nudity in a baby and a pregnant woman, seriously disturbing. Also Leslie Mann is an awesome actress and feel like her nude scene was uncalled for and unnecessary. The story is just ridiculous and feel as though it's forced.
It's annoying that Ryan Reynolds- the guy that brought is Deadpool, wasted his time on this film.
Cringy film - wouldn't watch again.

Hmmm... How many times can a book say the C word... I am not a prude but using the C word over 10 times in a chapter is just...different.

I thought that the basic consept of this novel was interesting. This was a quick read. The characters were interesting yet unrealistic. The main girl character made me want to scream half the time. The sex was a little too much, most of the time I had to just turn my brain off and try not to think that it was sexually assault. I understand that at the moments of passion the brain turns off and they are animalistic but seriously, it read like a woman's wet dream and not like a thought out novel.

"Beautiful drumming and bass playing. And the song I really like is called ‘The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game’. It’s a timeless sound with really wonderful bass parts that are so intriguing. Those kind of soulful bass bits were just wonderful and their voices are so classy. It’s the classiness of it, you know? It’s cool, wonderful rhythm and this is as good as it gets, probably. It doesn’t take me back, listening to it these days; it just impresses me more. Like, wow! How did they do that? How did they get that sound then? What a beautiful mix. I’m always impressed by the balance of things. I’m blown away by the balance. How they did it, I don’t know."

Quite poor overall I felt, looked like it could have been fun, but misses the mark badly. Not that funny, not many great action scenes and by the end I thought it was just about to get going, then the credits rolled! Knight and Day is much better in every department and came out around the same time, watch that instead.

I really like Tobias and I'm glad that I read this short story. It was really interesting to read about Tobias and find out his feelings. I really wish that this was longer, 100 pages would have been nice but a full length novel would be the best. I guess I will just have to wait to read the other short stories.

The movie was fun, but it was kind of like a rhino barreling through a grocery store: It was a mess, but it didn't care. I kind of had to applaud it for that. I laughed a few times and the characters were pretty good. It was really just the concept and the story that were all over the place.
