The location
On paper, a film about a bunch of real estate salesman sitting around an office insulting each other and going to any length to get the customer to buy what they are selling may sound boring and uninteresting.
Let m tell you, this film is far from that and is one of my favorite films of all time. If you even put aside the stellar cast of Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Kevin Spacey, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin and Alec Baldwin (best role of his career), the screenplay by David Mamet (based on his play) is so full of rich, entertaining words, you can't believe what you are hearing.
Some of the battles between the salesman trying to get their sale or insulting each other after something goes awry have to be heard to be believed. The Alec Baldwin speech is really great; however, the one I always remember is the lashing Al Pacino gives Kevin Spacey when Spacey says the wrong thing.
Unbelievable!
I highly recommend as I have seen many times and enjoy even more every time.

Scenes pick up where they left off in the previous episode, and respect the audience’s ability to sustain interest. Given the intrigue, great characters and Spacey’s sublime performance, viewers won’t need gimmicks to keep them coming back for more.

AKA that movie that they deleted Kevin Spacey from.
This was a 2+hour movie about the kidnapping of J Paul Getty II. It dragged on, I actually checked my watch during the movie, which I rarely do. They could have probably cut out a good hour to actually make it exciting. There was very little tension. However, maybe the reason I didn't feel any tension was because I knew how it would end.

Compares to Breaking bad
Beautifully sinister and dark as night.
Hard to watch political drama that is as smart as it is dark. My wife loves it, but I got depressed after watching it. There is no denying the quality of the show and the smart dialog. It's just not for me personally. Hence the 8, if it was my personal taste it would be a 10 no question. This is on par with Breaking Bad for me, both in darkness and intelligence.

Drawn out
It's a shame that this film will always be known as the film that deleted Kevin Spacey. And although i like Christopher Plummer, I spent the entirety of this wondering if it would've been any better if they had left Spacey in.
The main problem with this film is that it drags out a basic kidnapping across 2 hours and it is just far too long. There wasn't enough tension to hold my attention and i found myself getting a little bored. There were some good performances but they couldn't lift the drearyness from this film. I also really couldn't stand Michelle Williams, which is unusual as I used to think she was a good actress, but in this and Venom that I've seen her in recently, she's been pretty bad.
Ultimately there isn't really much in this film to recommend. If you wanted to know the true story behind this, it'd be better just to look it up.

B.A.B.Y.
I avoided this movie for a while because so far I have loved everything with Ansel Elgort in it and I didn't want to break this streak. With nothing else I fancies watching and it had been on my list on Netflix I gave in.
Firstly, fell in love with baby immediately. How he behaves at home and how he is behind the wheel kind of transitioned well I think, it wasn't complicated it just flowed.
Kevin Spacey plays a character you want to hate but because it's Kevin Spacey you just can't.
Jamie Foxx though. I love the guy in this he really makes you hate him. He's suave, dangerous, unpredictable and merciless perfectly.
The Darling and Buddy story (trying not to spoil it) is an unexpected surprise in a film such as this.
It's nice to see a film so unique in the way it all works out. One thing I did find is the Baby/Debora story progressed a little too fast but other than that, great film definitely think it's worth a watch

I love a good car chase film and this is a great one.
Like the French Connection and Ronin the car chases are amazing.
Also the soundtrack which took director Edgar Wright a year to complete.
Ansel Elgot delivers a superb performance as the titular character Baby. Who is always listening to music and how that music interacts with the action on screen is a credit to Wright.
Kevin Spacey is fine as the criminal mastermind. With some surprising actors turning up as robbers.
The script never takes itself overly serious and has some lovely wit on display. The nephew is my personal favourite.
There is always something happening and it's a high octane ride. This is no Driving Miss Daisy.

When I first began watching this, I was not convinced it was going to be good.
I have to say, the fast pace, stylized action/music score scenes and the witty screenplay had enough to win me over. Very entertaining throughout other than maybe the ending was a little far-fetched I guess.
If Kevin Spacey is never going to act again (seems almost certain at this point) this film is a fitting swan song for him and his memorable list of acting credits.
Director Edgar Wright continues his streak of entertaining quirky hits like his previous films Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Going to iTunes now to download some songs!

Easily my favourite comedy of 2011

Easily my favourite comedy of 2011, with Crazy, Stupid, Love. coming a close second. The film is about three guys whose jobs are made hell by their bosses. They decide to kill them in a "Strangers on a train" style, where one kills another's boss so it can't be traced back to the employee. I wasn't sure what to expect from the cast that includes Kevin Spacey, Jason Bateman, Colin Farrell, Donald Sutherland, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Aniston. Each fine actors but how would they fair in this film? Amazingly is how. Colin Farrell is almost unrecognizable as one of the bosses and Kevin Spacey is great as usual. However the stand out performance of the film is Jennifer Aniston. She plays a dentist, the boss of Dale (Charlie Day) and she is sexually harassing him. She really takes the role and plays it to perfection. Dale is her shy assistant who is engaged to Stacy (Lindsay Sloane). He is faithful to her and resists all advances from his over sexed boss. It is not a role we are used to seeing her play but it is a perfect performance. Another great performance was Jamie Foxx the murder consultant they hire. Horrible Bosses is a great comedy, almost a perfect comedy. The only flaw for me was it was all tied up a little too neatly. I saw the ending coming before it happened and it would have been nice to have an ending a little more surprising. Having said that I can't imagine how it could have been ended differently. The film doesn't have to resort to crude gags and just lets the script and performances of the cast tell the story. This works so well and full credit to the writers for a great comedy.

Brilliant young music-loving hearing-impaired getaway driver ends up in hock to criminal mastermind; must decide whether to run for it with his lovely new girlfriend or carry out one last job with some rather suspect associates.
Slightly retro crime thriller with a central gimmick - action sequences are frequently choreographed to the soundtrack - that isn't quite as innovative as it thinks it is. As technically proficient as you would expect from Wright; what's unusual is that the film has a degree of heart you wouldn't expect, not to mention an impressively twisty-turny plotline - just who the main bad guy will turn out to be is not at all clear until quite late on. Good performances all round, too.
