Good genre blender
A decent Horror, Thriller mash up as a group of kidnappers get more than they bargained for. For a low budget film the effects are OK, the story is good with a decent twist. If you don't mind something off the main stream for your horror thrills then check this out.

A very good if short thriller about 5 guys who wake up in a warehouse with short term memory loss. They deduct that 2 of them are hostages and 3 are kidnappers, but who is who?
Great idea for a thriller and it has a fine cast and a couple of twists along the way as you try to guess who the bad guys are. Worth checking out.

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated House of Salem (2016) in Movies
Nov 1, 2021 (Updated Nov 3, 2021)
House of Salem is directed by James Crow and is a British occult horror that takes the viewer on a journey to a house that has a terrifying history. When kidnappers snatch Josh (played by newcomer Liam Kelly) from his home in the dead of night, they head to a safe house to await the delivery of their ransom money.
House of Salem isn’t the best horror you’ll see, but it’s certainly not the worst.

Ricky and his friends are excited to be extras in the new Jericho Stone movie, that is until they arrive in LA and are immediately kidnapped. So why does Jericho say it was a mistake? And why are the kidnappers hanging around the set? Another wild ride with great characters that will keep readers of all ages turning pages.

Finally got to watch this movie another of my never got to watch originally but none I have what can I say about its brilliant movie very dark movie and less said about the woodchipper. The cast is top notch but the standout for me is Frances mcdormand as the pregnant cop who is chasing the kidnappers not knowing that yet. anyway good script good direction from the choen brothers to make the perfect movie I should watch more often

Watched today another movie on Disney plus that I hadn’t ever seen till now is it any good yes it’s rather good dark comedy about kidnapping that goes wrong and the husband who’s glad she’s gone. Casting wise Danny Devito is perfectly cast as the husband as u watch his delight at the thought he might not see that bitch again and then there’s Bette middler as the wife who gives the kidnappers trouble no end overall good afternoons comedy

Mid-90s thriller, starring Mel Gibson (back when he was still at the height of his career, before going completely loco IRL and getting himself into all sorts of trouble) as a wealthy airline owner whose son is kidnapped, and who must pay a ransom in order to get the kid back.
However, for 'reasons', and following a botched attempt to do so which the FBI crash, he decides instead to offer the ransom as a bounty on the kidnappers instead - kidnappers which the film has no qualms whatsoever about revealing from pretty much the get go.
That would have been a great twist (offering the ransom as a bounty, I mean) had the marketing for the movie not relied so heavily on it.
There's also surprisingly little made of it in the movie proper, save for one or two throwaway lines by interviewed citizens on the street.
As such, the film really relies on the 'star power' of Gibson himself and his co-star Rene Russo, alongside a strong turn by FBI agent Delroy Lindo and Gary Sinise.
The result is one of Gibson's more forgettable mid-90s thrillers, I feel.
