"Rounding it out would be Inside Out. I remember seeing that with my family on one of our family vacations during the summer, and just how they interpreted emotions to kids. There’s such an emphasis in society to “Be happy, be happy, be happy!” but you have to give kids the permission to feel sad. You have to give them permission to feel the range of emotions. That’s really healthy. And how creatively it was done, and it didn’t hurt that Amy Poehler was the voice of Joy. It just worked. I’m a huge Pixar fan, and it just completely worked."

"I think that film, for me, showed me what cooking is really about, in a way that line animation was never able to. It made we want to cook, it made me want to go out to a new restaurant, it made we want to appreciate life, to taste everything, not just food but the air, everything. Frankly, to be able to put that kind of magic back into a film that is targeted for kids is just amazing. That’s all it’s trying to do, is say to kids, “Hey look at the world, it’s an amazing world, did you see that?"

"I’m trying to remember records from when I was going through the most teenage, the most angsty periods of my life. I’ve got kids now, I listen to the radio sometimes, a I feel like as a teenager, what are you into? When I was at that age it was Portishead, I remember it soundtracking weird parties I went to where some kids were being more experimental with drugs. I remember it being quite an odd soundtrack to that time. And I think they’re a really brilliant band, one of a few uniquely British propositions, only Britain could produce that kind of group."
