David McK (3425 KP) rated Wings (Bromeliad Trilogy #3) in Books
Jan 3, 2021
Final entry in the late Terry Pratchett's so-called Bromeliad trilogy, with the events of this one running concurrently with those of (most of) the previous entry (that would be 'Diggers') and, this time around, following the exploits of the nomes Masklin, Angalo and Gurder as they travel to Florida in the company of Thing in order to contact their ship so they can get back home (wherever that is).
A fitting end to the trilogy, with some surprisingly deep observations for what is, essentially, a kids book!

I could have quite easily finished this book in one sitting if not for work.
I loved the camaraderie between Alexis and her wards, they were some pretty amazing, resilient kids.
I loved the almost instant connection between Alexis and Kieran. They had some amazing chemistry and I cannot wait to see where that goes.
And oh em gee! That assault course scene! My heart was pounding. That was one hell of a well written scene. I was captivated.
I've already downloaded book 2 just to see what else happens next with these two.

Just watched can't believe I'm the only so far on smashbomb to rate this movie so far anyway the movie as I've seen both space jams I would say I prefer the original jam over this one. Not sure about LeBron James acting ability jury still out there but I can't fault his basketball abilities second to none could have done with a cameo from Michael Jordan almost get one but spoilers. Anyway if u got kids take they will probably enjoy more than adults

Twisted
Not sure what I expected from this one but the description only scratches the surface. This one is not for kids or the feint of heart as the material is very graphic(violence, nudity, sex). The acting was ok and the cinematography good but the story was just weird. Somewhat predictable(not completely) it played out slowly like a "group" version of "The Wicker Man". If you're into "cult" style stories(in the guise of ancient nordic traditions) you'll enjoy this slow burner. Otherwise, not really worth a watch.

Not bad
Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce syst in this "western". Both give great performances(as do the other actors/actresses. The cinematography is very well done and the story itself plays out well. Normally I don't like when a story "jumps around" in time but this one did it well. Right up to the end. Pearce plays one hell of a villain. This one isn't really for the kids as it involves some violence/sex against children(not graphic). Otherwise, if you like westerns, this one will entertain. Worth a watch!
