Scientist, Dr. Maggie Magguire's life has been turned upside down. Recently dumped by her fiancee, the author of a book on happiness. Maggie spends her days sitting on her sofa eating gelato and watching romance movies until her friends come to the rescue and book her as a guest speaker on a "New Year, New You" cruise to Mexico.

Maggie fears she is unqualified because she can't find happiness herself. Then she runs into a handsome stranger who insists that smart women can't be happy, this makes Maggie determined to prove him wrong.

I enjoyed this book, it was fun, witty and full of suspense. The characters were believable and interesting.
The writer proves that if we listen to God and follow our hearts, happiness will follow.

This is a wonderful book that is hard to put down.

Amazing & Heartbreaking
I loved this 3 part drama on BBC. It really showed how black people where treated as slaves in the 19th century Jamaica. This programme need to be shared and show to us all. It was so heartbreaking to see that July have to give up her first child as she didn't want him to go into slavery. Also I loved the guy who she had her second child with but I was shocked how he turned on her and took her child with her owner. I am so happy to see that she met up with her first born and to see he lived a happy and free life with he's wife and 2 children. If you can find a way to watch please watch it! I recommend it!

Three stories that slowly merge into one? I need more of this in my life. Why can’t more books be written like this? Because I love that you get three different points of view and you get to see the turn of events that means that all three stories merge in the most unlikely way.

Every character is quirky, and I can’t say I would expect anything less from this group of authors. They are all so individual and really developed. It read like a perfect novel, with no plot holes or nothing left unexplained.

And I loved that it is so unique! There isn’t a Christmas novel out there that is quite like this, and I’m still hoping that one day it will get turned into a movie. It would make the most amazing film to snuggle up with.

This is a lovely book. It shows how her parents dealt with their little girls death. It shows the process of how each person who loved Asia began healing.

It also helps other parents who had to deal with loss. What a way to celebrate a child's life in the best way. It talks about the foundation they created in her name.

It references Asia saying's though out the book. It surely amazing that what Asia said to her parents or mother came true as Asia had known she be leaving this world.

I really enjoyed it. It sure has the history of that day. It tells the story of September 11, 2001. It is told in a way a parent loses someone special. The children are more loss to any parents and this book is meant to help them deal with it.

I am not usually much given to violent thoughts but I would be willing to head-butt everyone involved in this profoundly irritating piece of pretentious whimsy. A couple adopt Paw-Paw the cat, but realise this basically heralds the loss of their youth and impending deaths (no, really) so they set about exploring life to the fullest before the cat actually turns up. All manner of nonsense takes place, narrated by Paw-Paw the cat himself (voiced by July in a little yowly voice).

It is all done with a level of basic technical competency, but the film's total lack of self awareness (July genuinely seems to think she's making something profound, not completely absurd) makes it a fantastically annoying and frustrating experience. The cinematic experience of nails down a blackboard for an hour and a half.

What was that about?

After my nagging my husband to take me to see this, I was disappointed with both the fanciful plot and the completely mystifying ending - the film just appeared to stop for no good reason, and everyone in the theatre where we were watching this went "Eh?" or "What??!" as one man/woman, because they couldn't understand it either. There were a few amusing scenes but overall, I was expecting so much and was left just feeling confused.
I will probably have to go and get the book it is based on to make any sense of it, from what I have looked at it wasn't really historically accurate in any way, other than the characters existing in real life.

Greatest horror movie ever made
I watched this movie when I was 8 years old on VHS back in 1984. It was just before the VRC(video recordings act) came into being. It changed my life it changed the way I watch horror. First time I watched this film I was like this is the coolest film ever. Now at the age of 43 I watched loads of horror movies but nothing comes close to this. OK maybe Halloween as yes that is a classic also. Some ppl prefer Halloween to this but for me texas chainsaw will always be my no 1 film. Its a cinematic masterpiece of film making. Most of the main cast and crew have now past on with only a few left alive unfortunately. So I rate this 10/10.

Not heard of this one? I wouldn’t blame you if that was the case. Cake is an incredibly underrated film about the life of a single woman (Aniston) as she comes to terms with the death of her son and the suicide of a close friend and support worker.

Released in 2015, Aniston was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance here and it’s easy to see why. This is a difficult film to watch and is by far the most powerful role the actress has ever taken on. The most disappointing aspect of Cake however, is that Aniston wasn’t nominated for an Oscar that year – something fans of the film and the Friends star alike still find hard to stomach. Was she worthy of a nomination? Absolutely.

Ah Alien, you’ve turned me into a snivelling wreck on many occasions. The sole reason I began having night terrors, Alien found its way into my life in 2011 when I watched it for the very first time.

It’s my partner’s all-time favourite film and when that’s the case, you kind of have to watch it. Especially considering we have watched the entire Jurassic Park series upwards of 50 times – and don’t get him started on Desperate Housewives. Seriously, don’t.

There’s no denying Alien is an absolutely astonishing film and it is without a doubt one of the best horror films I have ever seen, but those face-huggers have been the cause of many sleepless nights in the Brannon household, trust me.

I grew up on Dr Ruth Westheimer. I wrote a book report on her autobiography in probably middle school. This is how influential she was during the 80s. The new documentary about her life released on Hulu and in select theaters quietly pays homage to this remarkable woman. Much like another short statured Jewish woman who received a documentary last year, Dr Ruth gave a voice to women and power to women in the bedroom. She made it okay to air your sexual problems and get a solution. For a generation, her humor and honesty turned a German girl who escaped the Holocaust and the 1948 Israeli-Arab War into a minor celebrity. I hope people can see this film and appreciate this trailblazer who tirelessly works for feminism (although she is not a feminist) and LBGTQ.
