My new ‘On Repeat’ album!
Firstly, I should say a big thank you to Smashbomb for this giveaway prize CD. I have absolutely loved listening to it - a lot. I don’t know whether I could even choose a favourite track! It’s an album that is just best played from start to finish. I’m not surprised that there has been so much buzz around this, it deserves it all.
It just makes my ears VERY happy!

Rolling Stone's 475th greatest album of all time
I love quite a few of Elvis Costello's songs and a few of my favourites are here - Accidents Will Happen, Oliver's Army and (possibly my favourite song of all time) Peace, Love and Understanding. Rolling Stone's 434th greatest album of all time (474th in the 2020 list)
My second time listening to Big Star (an act I had never heard of a few days ago) was better than the first. The songs here are much better than the "Third" album, most notably "Thirteen", which I had heard before somewhere. The singer's voice reminds me of a Scottish band, El Presidente, being part whine, part singing. Good 70s folk-rock.

Rolling Stone's 479th greatest album of all time
What a fantastic album. With a lot of similarities to Frank Zappa at his funk-laden jazz best, this is a short collection of brilliant 70s songs. Hints of Hendrix as well make this a really enjoybale and surprising listen. Definitely one I will listen to again, and reminded me why I am listening to Rolling Stone's top 500 albums. And then came the next one ...
