Domonique (0 KP) rated Black-Eyed Susans in Books

I enjoyed listening to this as an audio book and I liked how the transitions between the past and present were seamless and easy to follow. I can't believe Lydia knew who the killer was the whole time and not only didn't tell the person who was her best friend, but also didn't tell the authorities and get an innocent man out of jail, that was so selfish! But otherwise, I liked the way it was narrated and it was an enjoyable read.

All of the crew (1 more)
Always funny
Always putstanding
The giant beastcast is a weekly podcast (out every friday) that talk about video games mainly. They go down some rabbit holes but it's always entertaining listening to whatever they talk about. They all work at giantbomb.com (except for one who works at cnet). Every member of the podcast definitely has their own personality and they all mesh well and add a lot to the podcast. Highly recommend for a good listen every week.

Liliannar (58 KP) rated End of Watch in Books

While the story may be a bit unbelievable in content, it was extremely well written and kept my attention. I was highly motivated to keep listening and find out what happened next. The ending was predictable to a point, but the story certainly wrapped up in what felt like the perfect way. Like most of King's work I found it easy to connect with the characters and care about them as people. This is definitely a series I will read through again.

Family account
I had used another music app for many years until my mum got the family account on Spotify I reluctantly moved on to save some money! While it took me a while to get the hang of it I have come to love Spotify. It has most music on there, playlists of all genres. I lobe listening to the podcasts and there is a wide variety of them. I also love the personalised playlists it makes for me.

Overall not a bad book - I really enjoyed listening to it over reading - I like the back stories now of those that are at the home, etc. - The twins were actually some of my favourite children in book 1 so getting to know them and their past and their door was actually pretty amazing - I kept getting confused between Jack/Jill I won't lie - and unexpected romance of sorts happened too and I am living - can't wait to continue the series

Ross (3284 KP) rated New Day Rising by Husker Du in Music
May 1, 2020 (Updated May 17, 2021)
Rolling Stone's 488th greatest album of all time (428th in the 2020 list)
This album and I have a bit of a past. I like some Husker Du, but I really want to love them. The thrashy guitars and wailing vocals tick my boxes. But this album just seems to be those and very little in the way of a song, and I found it largely unpleasant listening. I am hoping Warehouse or Candy Apple Grey are higher in the list.
