Hazel (2934 KP) rated Liar Liar [Audiobook] in Books
Jul 31, 2022
I really quite enjoyed listening to this audiobook and as I was in my car a lot over a couple of days, was able to finish it in pretty quick time.
The plot is captivating and although it is a tad unbelievable, it's like one of those cheesy chat shows that you can't stop watching and you find yourself shouting at the tv! Well, all I can say is that it's a good job I was in my car and not on a train whilst listening to this otherwise I would have got some very strange looks!
The characters are well developed - I actually didn't like any of them very much apart from Mason, however, for this book, I'm not sure it mattered to me. The pace was quick and it's full of tension from start to finish and the gradual reveal of the "unspeakable secret" added to this.
The narrator was good however, there were times when her voice became a little stilted and robotic which was a little annoying and disappointing.
Overall, I think this works really well as an audiobook and if you like delving into the secrets and lies of a very dysfunctional family, I would definitely recommend it.
Thank you to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for enabling me to listen to Liar Liar and to share my thoughts.

Amazing Soundtrack (1 more)
Amazing Cast
I must say after listening to the soundtrack on repeat for at least two days I was slightly worried that the film wouldn't live up to the music but it was absolutely amazing! I loved every second and was not bored once. The storyline was just as amazing as the soundtrack and I must say that the soundtrack and story fitted together incredibly well. The dance numbers and stunts were awesome. And I'll be honest when I say I never wanted it to end. Definitely one I will be re-watching a lot. One of my favourite films of 2017 by far!

B (15 KP) rated LeVar Burton Reads in Podcasts
Jan 10, 2018
If you grew up with Reading Rainbow this podcast can fill your nostalgia and want for Levar’s voice in your ears. These stories are not always the light and fluffy stories for children reading rainbow produced. My episode suggestion is episode 11: The Paper Menagerie by Ken liu and Episode 5: What It Means When a Man Falls from the Sky by Lesley Nneka Arimah. Both of these stories with Levar Burton’s voice behind them brought tears to my eyes and expanded the way I look at certain things in my life. I cannot express the joy this podcast gives me with each listening.

B (15 KP) rated Stuff You Missed in History Class in Podcasts
Jan 10, 2018
Stuff you Missed in History Class is all the things I wish I would have actually learned in school. From the stories you think you have already heard to things you would not think to look into this podcast covers them all. In the coverage, the overviews are often more informative then hours in the classroom. I love listening to Tracy and Holly tell the well-researched and well thought outlines full of what is promised history. This podcast leaves out most of the personal feelings of the hosts, which is very nice as well. Episode suggestions: New England Vampire Panic and Building Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion.

Ashley Swinford (3 KP) rated Spotify Music in Apps

Love this app!
This app has a wide variety of artists and you can add their songs to as many of your play lists as you'd like. You can go to the playlist you want and it will shuffle play the list for you. Ads are minimal so they don't interfere with your listening. The only down side is if you want to listen to a specific song then you have to pay for the month service. But if your up for shuffled music this is an amazing app!
