Rollercoaster of twists and lies
Wow! I am a frequent reader of psychological thrillers and nearly always can figure out the twists, turns and the obligatory “big reveal”. With T.M. Logan’s “Lies”, I found myself on a rollercoaster of twists and lies. This quick read book felt as if each chapter ended on a cliffhanger that made the book impossible to put down.

The author did such a fantastic job at making the characters so realistic I sympathized with them, but was also suspicious of each of them at different parts of the book.

When I realized I was nearly finished the book but the story was not complete, I thought the author was going to rush the ending. Some authors end a story as if they have reached their minimum amount of words needed for an assignment. Rest assured, Logan did not.

In one of the blurbs, Nancy Macfarlane (Fiction Addiction), described “Lies” as “one of the scariest…”. I do not think it was scary but definitely was a page turner. I added T.M. Logan to my list of authors to read.

Gritty Police procedural.
If you are not going to manage with descriptions of horrendous crimes committed against young children though I would step away from this one.

Listening to the audio of this book narrated by Steve Worsley felt a lot like curling up in front of the TV to watch a post-watershed BBC police procedural series set in Scotland. If you like a good dark down to earth police procedural then this may well be up your alley.

Logan McRae is just returning to work following sustaining horrific injuries in the line of duty and is thrown straight back into the thick of it when the mutilated body of a young boy is discovered. Numerous threads, involving various cases and a smattering of personal life then intertwine to give a very solid down to earth police procedural. OK, I could of done with Logan being a bit less obsessed with every bit of leg he saw but for the time and place set probably fairly accurate…

First in a long-running series and as there's not much on the TV at the minute I'm on board for more of these

3.5 stars because of the ending cliff-hanger. I'm not always a fan of these and in this definitely not.

I was Team Logan from early on, he might have been a bit of a player but you could tell he really liked Neva. And it only got confirmed further through the story and Neva, being a bit weird if you ask me, is a bit mean to him with her actions, so unfortunately she went down in my books for that.

As for Angel, he might have been good looking and a really nice guy but I always felt something was wrong with him especially after the restaurant scene and after the prologue with the man in bed I figured he was somehow related to the man who killed Neva and Tate's dad based on his eye colour

Neva, as I mentioned earlier annoyed me with how she thought things through near the end she could be an undamaged, normal, person with Angel because he didn't know her secrets but not with Logan who knew everything. Doesn't really make sense to me, but oh well.

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe ( Dream Harbour 1)
By Laurie Gilmore
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When Jeanies aunt gifts her the beloved Pumpkin Spice Café in the small town of Dream Harbor, Jeanie jumps at the chance for a fresh start away from her very dull desk job.

Logan is a local farmer who avoids Dream Harbor’s gossip at all costs. But Jeanie’s arrival disrupts Logan’s routine and he wants nothing to do with the irritatingly upbeat new girl, except that he finds himself inexplicably drawn to her.

Will Jeanie’s happy-go-lucky attitude win over the grumpy-but-gorgeous Logan, or has this city girl found the one person in town who won’t fall for her charm, or her pumpkin spice lattes

This was one of those I was a bit unsure of picking up as it’s a popular book and I hoped it would live up to the hype. It didn’t disappoint it was so so sweet and a little spice thrown in. I loved the little town and the characters were all likeable. I do need a llama called Harry Styles now though 😂

THE TEA HOUSE is a novella with a perfectly timed release - just in time for spooky season. Because that's what this is - spooky. There is some blood and gore but nothing too bad. Instead, you get that feeling of creepiness, that something is about to happen, you know it, you just don't know when.

Logan and Jaime are the perfect counterfoils for The Tea House and it starts off sweet enough. Be prepared for it to change though, and maybe not in the way you're expecting!

This is a short read that I enjoyed, but I will admit to wanting more. More from Jaime and him accepting certain things. More from Logan and his history, present, and future. And more of them together.

I did enjoy the ending, and it left me with a hopeful (evil) gleam in my eye!

A short one but absolutely recommended by me.

To imagine that this movie is from a comic book is shocking, especially from an iconic character such as the wolverine. Logan has it all and stands on its own, the story was perfectly crafted, the drama was very well felt and the action kicked in all the right places. Hugh Jackmans performance was unbelievably amazing and Patrick Stewart was astonishingly great. This is the wolverine movie that should of been made and you don't even have to be a fan of the genre to love this one.

X-Men 2- Wolverines Revenge (available on ps2 & GC since 2003)
In this hit sequel, wolverine and the X-Men (pun intended) are being hunted following an assault on X mansion/school for gifted youngsters. During this, Logan/wolverine comes into contact with the leader of the assault, an unknown figure from his past, the past he doesn't remember.

Featuring some of the best Graphics and stunt work, gritty story telling & a returning cast, X-Men2 is one of the best action/sci-fi/fantasy movies of the early 2000's.
