I have gone on quite a bit about this one recently. I just think it is wonderful, and by far the best and least mawkishly sentimental work from Richard Curtis, of Love, Actually infamy. It makes me laugh so hard; the perfect awkwardness of Domhnal Gleason against the cute intelligence of Rachel McAdams; the exquisite turn by Bill Nighy as the time travelling father; and every small character and very British nuance in-between – it is such a pleasure. It also makes me cry… a lot! What I like about it is that it feels exactly like being in love. Exactly! There will be regret and pain, but in the end there is that one person that gets you and always will. And that idea… feels good!

"I love this album. We used to play these tunes in The Idle Race; about two or three songs off that album. For about a year we did them and they were so good to play. That big, rough r'n'b sound. I’ve actually recorded ‘Mercy, Mercy’ on my new album, Longwave. It’s a version like we used to do it – just two guitars, drums and bass and background shouting. It sounds like the old record, really. I think that sound was important back then. There was a lot of r'n'b going on. Obviously, you had The Spencer Davis Group with Steve Winwood, who I love – he’s a brilliant guy. He’s one guy I’d like to work with one day. I haven’t seen him for a few years but we used to hang out a bit."

"Oh my gosh, that was another pivotal moment. Queen – for me – is the most unique rock band in history. I love Deep Purple, Zeppelin and all those rock bands from that time but nobody sounded like Queen and nobody could sound remotely like that. There was a magic to them – almost like the band was blessed with something. That band was such a perfect storm because with Freddie Mercury, how could you even quantify his confidence? You couldn’t –it was boundless and he just expressed that constantly in the music. The way Brian May approached the guitar was absolutely unique. You can compare me to other guitar players, you can compare Page to other players but you can’t compare Brian May to anybody because his touch on the instrument had a life of its own and the way that he heard the songs and was able to apply this unbelievable touch to serve the song – as opposed to just saying ‘here’s a guitar solo’ –meant he was the sound of Queen. In fact everyone in that band was the sound of Queen. When ¬Queen II came out it was the most musical, aggressive rock record of that period, for me."

I had played the first chapter of this on my phone so I knew what to expect but the graphics are definitely better on the switch and obviously you get the other chapters too. I really like that they kept it similar to the original Layton games from when I had my Nintendo DS because I love puzzles like those. Great game for using your brain, time wasting.

"The album I got into most from Jeff Buckley was Grace and I listened to that loads. I've listened to that back to front, but more recently I got into Sketches For My Sweetheart which this song is on. I think that this album is all demos and the fact that it still sounds so complete, the message is still so strong, the energy’s still there. Something about that particular song just really felt like church to me I can’t explain it, maybe it’s the chord progression. It was like grunge church, I'm into that. I'd love to go to a sermon where it’s grunge church, that's me. But more so how he kind of created a world in this song where I don't really get what he’s chatting about but I’m with him, I’m on that journey. I love things like that, that I can’t explain, and I think Dark Matter is very much like that, I don't want people to try and explain it. I want people to try and feel it, have that relationship. And then maybe one day find out why it makes you feel this way. I haven't found the answer for this one yet but that's definitely the vibe."

One of my favorite shows, and one of the few that I will rewatch. I normally hate rewatching, rereading, and replaying most things. I do feel like this is one of those things that you either love or hate, and it isn't for everyone. But, I loved the style of this show. I thought it was very funny, and I grew attached to many of the characters.
