I was very intrigued by this book from the description and it immediately pulled me in. I came into the story expecting magic and a similarity to the Secret Circle. That is not at all how this book ended up being. It turned my expectations on their head. The Graces: perfect, different and maybe a little bit feared. To be honest, it read a little like the Cullens from Twilight. The main character is just a normal girl that gets pulled into their dazzling orbit and her life is changed. There is drama, heartbreak and completely unexpected twists and turns throughout. The entirety of the plot was unexpected and I could never foresee what was going to happen. It ends on a cliffhanger that makes you want to know what happens next. Not highly recommended, but give it a shot and see how you feel.

Unexpectedly winning Anglo-Spanish horror movie, with low budget and lo-fi production more than compensated for by strong cast and inventive script. Initially looks like caveman-on-the-rampage schlock, but turns into something much more interesting and intelligent; to some extent this is yet another version of The Thing, with a mini-zombie apocalypse dropped in for the climax.
Benefits enormously from the old Lee-Cushing magic; Telly Savalas turns up at the end and manages to upstage them both (no mean feat). Decent production values, once you get past the dubbing (movie was made without sound and had multiple different soundtracks added for different markets). Maybe it can't quite make its mind up whether to be a supernatural horror movie or sci-fi, but the genre mash-up is at least distinctive and interesting. Great fun; deserves to be better known.

Ive always found this book to be my favorite out of the whole series purely because Harry finds some family...his godfather, whom after a convoluted storyline he realises isnt set out to murder him. Its the only book where I feel he actually has a few happy moments in his life and is discovering who he is and achieves a bit of character stability. I love how the story handles the introduction of Sirius and displays the political and media spin that happens in the background (between the bad reporting on the daily prophet and ministry of magic). Also the trio (Harry, Ron and hermoine) seem to have solid bonds of friendship grow tighter in this storyline.

Not a day goes by that I don't use my Amazon Kindle.
I love Amazon Kindle. As a real bibliophile I didn't think I could ever break my addiction to the printed world. But it did. I love how easy the world of books is to access and how many genres ate available. I have a condition called fibromyalgia which makes my joints weak and painful. This made it difficult to read books in bed which is my favourite thing. Thankfully with Amazon Kindle it is light enough to use and read with one hand, so very easy for me to use on my pad. Plus with Amazon Kindle on my phone, I am never without my latest or favourite books. I read do.much I joined kindle unlimited to save myself some money. £7.99 A month, bargain.

The leader of an infamous society of warriors, the Valia Kindred, lays claim to her as well, and Bleak finds herself in the middle of a much bigger battle than she anticipated.
<strong>Loved it</strong>
I don't often give 5 stars but I really enjoyed this book. Every character has something different to bring. It leaves you wanting so much more!!
I'm excited to see what other powers Bleak has,also they are all shrouded in mystery. The most is intriguing too.

Oft-forgot-about (or so it seems) 4th instalment in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean series, this is the one with Penelope Cruz that also sees Jack set off to find the Fountain of Youth: the Fountain itself also sought after by both English and Spanish factions, and by the notorious pirate Blackbeard (as portrayed by Ian McShane) who, here, also dabbles in Vodoo and is also (inexplicably) able to control his ship the Queen Anne's revenge by magic.
With no Orlando Bloom or Kiera Knightley in sight, the focus on this one is firmly on Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow (a character who initially, remember, way back in the first film, was not the main focus), although it has to be said that his Keith Richards schtick is perhaps getting old by this point in the franchise.
Standout sequence of the film? That would be the Whit Cap bay mermaid bit.

A brilliant concept intertwined with a very well-written story! One world has magic, one world has technology. Should they try to combine there is a chance that both will perish. But what happens when someone from one falls in love with someone from the other?
This is the tale of what happens when one world tries to cross over to the other and the people who are trying to stop this from happening. There are noble kings, honourable assasins, seers, traitors, inner evil that is wrapped up in beauty and stallions with attitude to name but a few.
I loved how the worlds intermingle and how someone from one world would try to comprehend the other. The characters all have depth and are fantastic to read about. You will become involved with each and every one as their story unfolds.
Highly recommended to all fantasy readers!

As a big fan of Reginald Hill I was interested in reading this, one of the books he published under a pseudonym at the same time as he was experiencing success with his other novels.
The set up is intriguing and the main character interesting but the plot doesn't quite seem to gel; I don't know exactly what wasn't right but it didn't have the Hill magic. Everything seems to be fairly conventional, if not a bit cliched and some of the plot points came across as contrived or plain unlikely. The writing too wasn't up to par, almost as if Hill had lost enthusiasm for the project before it was completed. Perhaps that was why he published it under a different name.
That said, it's workman like enough to pass as a casual read. It's just not in the same league as Hill's other work.

The third series has just come onto Netflix, and I can not wait to het started!!!!

In a productive period seeing him make four or five films a year, Douglas returned to work for Richard Fleischer in his pursuit for the great epic that would finally win him the Oscar. The Vikings was a star-studded spectacle that despite some memorable scenes between himself and Tony Curtis, falls a little flat as a satisfying film in entirety. A box office hit, but a critical flop, it has to be counted as somewhat of a failure, except for the fact it is one of the better known moments in his career, thanks largely to the powerful visual of Douglas with a dead eye and scar; proving you merely point a camera at him and get magic. My favourite trivia around this film is that Douglas offered a prize for best beard on the first day of shooting, only to turn up himself entirely clean shaven.
