This is a continuation of the After the EMP series. This is a more of a companion trilogy since it mirrors the timeline of events in Darkness Begins. The characters are connected since Colt is the air marshall on the flight that Madison's dad was the pilot.

It is a tale of survival and finding allies in unexpected places. Colt finds his in a street child named Dani. This is just the beginning of their story. It is a well written, entertaining book with engaging characters and plot.

Dog Soldiers might be showing its age by now, but damn it's still a ride.

The cast absolutely make it - I've never been one of those "wheeey lads, football" kind of guys, but the group of soldiers that the film follows have great chemistry, and just feel real. I always enjoy Sean Pertwee, and here is no different. I would argue that it's one of his best performances to date, from the fantastic monologue about his mate in Iraq near the start, to his increasingly mad and out of it schtick near the films climax.
Its an incredibly well paced movie as well. It doesn't take long for shit to hit the fan, and the rest of the narrative feels frantic, despite being set in one building for the most part.
There's a good amount of gore, and Neil Marshall is never afraid to show us his werewolves, and they look great! Its all practically done as well, giving us the cherry on top.

Dog Soldiers and The Descent are the two films that truly cemented Neil Marshall as a director to watch. Its nearly 20 years later and it's still a great watch and in my opinion, is one of the better werewolf films out there!

Jackie Finds Murder Mushrooming
Former celebrity chef Jackie Norwood has landed in Conway, Maryland, for their second annual mushroom festival. She’s especially excited about connecting with her friend, Marshall. However, she quickly discovers that there’s lots of tension in town thanks to a big farming company trying to buy up the mushroom farms in the area. When Jackie finds the owner of the company dead, Marshall becomes the prime suspect. Can Jackie clear him?

I loved the first book in the series, and it was great to be spending time with Jackie again. All of her family and friends from the last book are back as well. While it would have been nice to see a bit more development for them, I still enjoyed spending time with them and loved the humor they brought to the story. The story started quickly, and when I reached the end, I appreciated just how the clues and motives were layered into the story. I was engaged the entire time, and the ending made perfect sense. If you like mushrooms, you’ll be interested in the five delicious sounding recipes at the end of the book. This is looking to be a great culinary cozy mystery series, and I’m looking forward to finding out what happens at Jackie’s next festival.

Paige Marshall has taken a job coaching a show choir until her big break singing opera comes through. But when a rival coach is murdered, she starts trying to clear one of her students of the crime. The book is fun with great characters, fast moving plot, and gentle humor woven in. Paige took a couple more risks than I felt like she should have, but I enjoyed it and definitely plan to read the sequel.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
2008 | Comedy, Romance
Has it's moments
The movie has its moments of comedy and drama. Siegel plays a love struck music sound layer for his girlfriend Bell (Sarah Marshall) when she up and dumps him for a wild and crazy rick singer played by Russel Brand. After some advice he decides to take a long vacation to a Hawaiian resort only to find out that is ehre his ex and new beau are staying and has to make the best of it. Lots of great cameos in this film and a great idea for a musical. I feel that it could have been a little better but, still a good flick

Good Western
A very good and enjoyable film, nevertheless it didn't quite hit the heights I thought it would after all the hype. I haven't seen the '69 John Wayne version but imagine this is a lot "grittier". It's a good story, the acting especially from Bridges as the old scruffy US Marshall and the young girl is superb to watch with a witty script to boot. It just felt a little short and lacking a bit more action to be the epic master piece it has been heralded as. A very good film indeed but not up there in the westerns dept with Unforgiven, The Outlaw Josey Wales.

I was absolutely blown away by this book! It's an audio-only version of the material covered in [[Marshall B. Rosenberg]]'s book of a similar name, Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life: Life-Changing Tools for Healthy Relationships. It distills his lifetime of work on NVC.

I think it might have been 20 years since my brother-of-choice recommended Rosenberg's work to me. Yes, sometimes I'm slow. I intend to go ahead and read the print version as well as re-listen to this one several times.

The thing that really struck me was the empathic way of approaching people, including oneself.

Music to be listened to
So after another album drop, Eminem surprised us with another loaded playlist which includes multiple spitfire spots that'll make your jaw ache and head pound attempting to imitate, or maybe that's just me?
Music to be murdered by features some instant hits like Godzilla, farewell, stepdad & leaving Heaven - just to name a few.

Featuring several other talents including Royce da 5'9, young ma, skylar grey, Anderson .Paak & juice world (R.I.P)
This was a unique musical puzzle.

This album is clearly showing signs of old school Eminem well blended with a Modern day Marshall Mathers.

"We are indeed amusing ourselves to death. This started when Marshall McLuhan stated that the medium was the message. I said right away that the message was the medium. But, alas, my voice was maybe not loud enough, and/or the medium without a serious message is much more amusing to people. So the entertainers became the gods of the people, who screamed: “Keep entertaining us! We want to die being entertained!” The kings of the world wished the same, and they let their countries fall while they were entertained. This is the only book in this list that was published way back in the 1960s. I hope you can get it."

marshall loren is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter. Not too long ago, he released a heartfelt emo-pop tune, entitled, “Back on Me”.

“I said I know that we’re going different ways right now. Can’t help but think that you’re on your way back now. I know I’m the fool that let you go on the loose. Never thought I’d be the one that’s waiting for you.” – lyrics

‘Back on Me’ tells a bittersweet tale of a young guy who wants his ex-girlfriend back. Oftentimes, he reminisces about her and blames himself for their emotional breakup.

Later, he admits if he could change anything, he would have never let her go.
‘Back on Me’ contains a relatable storyline and harmonious vocals. Also, the likable tune possesses murky instrumentation flavored with hip-hop, trap, and urban-pop elements.

“‘Back on Me’ is about ending a relationship with someone that you wish you hadn’t. You see them moving on a lot faster than you anticipated which makes you feel a loss. It’s about wanting that person back in your life. Also, it’s time to bring back the influences of the early 2000s emo scene. This song starts with an old-school steel guitar to bring back those elements that my generation grew up on. The melodies are reminiscent of younger years while having a modern flair. I want to bring back nostalgia for my generation and to show the new kids a style they might not have heard before.” – marshall loren
