Pretty damn powerful
A story of so many emotions, I couldn't put it down! My heart broke a little for these amazing men, the trials they go through, the raw pain, love and passion.
Will and Mike fight for each other through the fallout of a military attack, memory loss and injury.
Definitely an adult read, with sex, bdsm, mental anguish/ptsd and descriptions of violent acts. Brilliantly told in a way that keeps you hooked.

General Story arc
I feel like I am growing up and along with him, learning and exploring this world.
the dialog and verbal banter is exceptional in spurts later on in the book.
Could be a next step for Harry Potter fans looking for the next great adventure...
I really enjoyed this one much more than I expected. Harry Potter fans might be looking for this one....
I feel like this might be a Different and yet contain some of the same element that people love about Harry Potter. if Harry Potter had told his own story from his memory. But of course had a much better memory than I have or am capable of. I can't say enough how much little moments in his book are so charming and smart. Yes he makes decisions I wouldn't make, and he does things that I think to myself, of crap he we go.... but isn't that part of the fun? I get to experience someone else's world for a while.

Top notch animation
Another hit in the LEGO franchise
This is probably one of the best parody movies in recent memory. It is hilarious from start to finish and the voiceover cast is brilliant. I enjoyed the Lego movie more than I thought I would the first time I saw it and I enjoyed this even more. Do yourself a favour, no matter what age you are, give this a watch and I promise you will not regret it.

The title of this book is almost as long as the book itself! It is a collection of 5 short stories which are VERY short. The longest tale is the folk-tale of the Green Man which is tugging at my memory, I'm sure I've seen it somewhere before.
On the whole, an interesting read but it was just too short for me to actually "get into". I had finished it before I had even realised it.
Very good but needed more.

AT (1676 KP) rated God Country in Books
Dec 21, 2018 (Updated Dec 21, 2018)
An elderly man suffering from Alzheimer's comes into possession of a magical sword called Valofax. With Valofax, he regains his memory in the sword's presence, and defends his family and world against an alien being that wants Valofax. It is a story of magic, fantasy, war, family, and love.
The only reason I gave God Country only an 8 is because I thought it ended abruptly. I think it could have been much more, even with the same overall point of the story.

Rolling Stone's 401st greatest album of all time
I got this album for my 18th birthday and loved it at the time. I feared re-listening after all this time would ruin the memory of it (I regularly hear Scar Tissue and hate it now). This wasn't the case as I fell in love with it all over again. The first few tracks are incredible and while it loses its way somewhere after that it comes back for a strong finish.

Ruth Frampton (577 KP) rated The Fairy in the Kettle in Books
Apr 10, 2018
What a lovely little book, fairies and friendship all combine when the wind blows up a storm leaving the fairies in trouble, happily there is one little fairy who loves the rain and is happy to welcome others and all is good in the end. As a story, this could be a great way to support little ones who find wind and heavy rain difficult to cope with or just a lovely memory for your little one to remember and keep the magic of nature alive.
