Andy K (10823 KP) rated Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) in Movies

Out of fresh ideas
Hard to sat any 5th installment of a series stays fresh. This installment was released only 1 year after part 4 simply because the lead actress was young and they didn't want her to grow up too much.
The result is the same old same old feeling with a lower budget meaning bad lighting and not even good gore effects.
Actress Danielle Harris does a good job keeping the story going at a young age. She even has a tender moment with "Uncle Mike".
Overall, this leg of the franchise is complete and none too soon.

Controversial but popular podcast
Sword and scale is a bit like marmite. You either love it or hate it.
Whatever you think, this crime podcast narrated by Mike Boudet is a hugely popular show in term of active listeners.
It really does draw you in and you have plenty of episodes to go through. Sword and scale is to the point and can be a bit insensitive or biased.
It's usually the host that draws the controversy. However in my mind the solution is simple. If you are easily offended don't listen..

Bong Mines Entertainment (15 KP) rated AlleyGod by Alley Boy in Music

Alley Boy is a rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. Not too long ago, he released a melodic rap tune, entitled, “Rewind”, featuring trap-Godfather Future.
‘Rewind’ is a reminiscing tune which finds Future taking listeners down memory lane to the long last days of his innocence. Also, the likable tune finds Alley Boy rapping about his successes and failures.
‘Rewind’ contains conversational rap vocals, harmonious melodies, and melodic instrumentation flavored with trap and hip-hop elements.
Alley Boy, a former Atlantic Records’ standout, has been pretty busy this year.
His “Alley God” project is still going strong thanks to assists from 21 Savage and production from Mike WiLL, Fritz, & more.

Unfortunately we live in a world where many will not give this movie a chance at all simply because it is touted as being faith based.
What really needs to be recognized here is the message. The message of a mother and a family support system who simply refuse to accept that her son will not recover from falling through the ice of a frozen lake.
Dennis Haysbert and Mike Colter both provide performances in supporting roles that really help put everything else into place, right where it should be. Topher Grace earned a level of respect from me that I didn't think he would achieve in his role, as well.

A dark, compelling read.
I went through many feelings whilst reading this......sadness, anxiety, disbelief to name a few. It's hard to think of being many floors up and not being safe.
Although this happened years ago it still makes you stop and realise that things like this still happen. The thought of knowing a serial killer, being friendly with one, sends a shiver down my spine. How Mike, and the others, dealt with that afterwards, well, it's a testament to their inner strength.
I like how all the details thread together and the way things are easy to understand without being overly technical.

Firstly, I want to thank TWCS and Mike Walker for sending me this book because I flipping LOVED it! I honestly have not read a book so engaging in quite a while, so huge thanks! I'm likely to gush a lot whilst reviewing this, so I'll give you a brief over view now before going into a tad more detail but seriously this book is funny, touching, incredibly engaging, a fabulously fresh take on vampires and impossibly difficult to put down!
So let's pick up on some of those points, and I think the thing that deserves the first real mention is Mike Walker's writing style. He has such wit and dry humour that at times I was literally laughing out loud at this book (much to the aghast of some others in the doctors waiting room earlier today!) and I honestly tittered my way through the story. It's just so funny, even where it probably shouldn't be, and this is definitely down to the expert style of writing used by Walker. It's very hard to make me laugh at a book as I'm more of a fan of visual humour, but Walker had me literally rolling, and I'd love to thank him for cheering me up and making my sides ache!
