This is one of my favorite musicals, and I absolutely love Ewan McGregor. The modern music was well done and melded into the film. The visuals are stunning.
However, Kidman's performance in the scenes in the beginning, in the elephant are some of the most annoying that I've ever had to watch.

I have to add the artwork cover on Lovefilm is very different to the above. Made it look more like a modern day slasher/horror. It's actually more like a made for TV teen thriller. Closest thing it was like, is the Wild Things films and very similar in plot but no where near as good as the first 2 of those films.

I really love Doescher's Shakespeare-ization of modern media. I don't particularly like Mean Girls, since I was terrorized by mean girls in HS, who coincidentally asked me to bring the family copy of the film to watch after soccer practice, but whatever.
The story lends itself well to iambic pentameter, and was an overall good adaption of the story.

Growing on me

Watched the first episode on Catch up and the second one last night, it is growing on me but the plot is becoming a bit complicated for a simple soul like me. Not sure if I like the PC plot line but it is modern times. We will see how it goes but will put it on my Watchlist.
