The Monster Squad is of course a 80s classic, and one of the great gateway horrors for a younger audience to enjoy.

Its biggest selling point is it's premise and the subsequent rogues gallery of classic horror monsters, as a group of misfit school kids (and Rudy, that weird older teenager who hangs round younger kids because it makes him feel cooler or some shit) take on the likes of Frankenstein's Monster, The Wolfman, The Mummy, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and their leader Count Dracula. It's a hell of a lot of fun, especially for people who enjoy the old Universal movies.

The whole cast are pretty likable, a decent screenplay thanks to Shane Black and director Free Dekker, and delivers some solid effects work to top it all off.

This is the third entry in the Pip Bartlett series. My eight-year-old daughters loved the entire series and spunky Pip! This book was just as loved as the previous two. Despite all those pesky sea monsters, it made us all want to be at the beach with Pip and Tomas--and maybe even Callie and the triplets! The girls absolutely loved all the amazing magical creatures Maggie and Jackson come up with, especially the spinnerseals!

This series is so wonderful for kids with imaginations and who love animals. It always inspires my girls to come up with their own magical creatures. I love how Pip works to solve her own problems, keeps a positive attitude and open mind, and is always a friend to everyone. These are excellent books!

Lore is the first podcast I listened to, my boyfriend got me into it and it's still my favourite. I ended up binge listening to it, and despite the fact that it had been released years prior to my starting to listen to it, I was soon waiting eagerly for new episodes to be released, as I had caught up.I am particularly interested in episodes about real life things like serial killers and old "treatments" but I also love episodes on paranormal/folk lore topics.Some episodes are actually terrifying one such episode is about dolls, I was listening to it late at night and had to turn it off until the next day.
