Very Disappointing
What a disappointing movie. It felt like this sequel was just awkward and couldn't make sense in the Harry Potter universe. I really think Johnny Depp should've been cast as Dumbledore instead of Grindelwald. He just didnt make a convincing villain. Also for a fantastic BEASTS game there was only 3 new beasts introduced lol.

How to find the words, because I'm first and foremost saying nothing about the movie, and secondly I'm truly at a loss to find words worthy enough to describe how amazing this movie is and the emotions I felt watching it. Supposedly it had a run time of three hours, but I was so sucked into the movie it went by in a snap; see what I did there? I don't think I realized just how emotionally invested I was in these characters until this movie. The past 11 years and 21 movies has been so truly special. The thought and time put into planning out the MCU universe and connecting every single one of these movies is something magical that has never been done in cinema to this level. We've been by their side in every battle, loved and lost right there with them. All leading up to this moment. I cried, I laughed, and I cried some more. Stan Lee, wherever you are in the ethers of the universe, much love.

Fucked up Masterpiece
There so much to say about this movie and yes 99.9% is good. The characters are very funky and lovable, even though you really wouldn’t want to meet them in a dark alley way . Everything about the setting is artistic and unique taking you into a completely different universe. The scenes playing out don’t always seem to make sense and it’s extremely hard to predict the characters actions. Oh yea and they have a milk bar... That itself makes the movie watching hehe

A light begins to shine on the darkness of the DC Extended Universe
After the dark brooding mess that was Batman Vs. Superman and the hot mess that was Suicide Squad, I was quite pleasantly surprised with Justice League.
With no offense intended towards Zack Snyder, who is good at what he does, I found his gritty take on the DC universe to be too dark. Whether the original intent had always been to start off dark and depressing and lead into a more light and hopeful tone with Justice League, or if it was Joss Whedon's influence once he stepped in when Snyder had to leave, or just WB/DC trying to keep up with Marvel, the shift in tone was the right choice.
While they are clearly still trying to play catch up with the MCU in setting up their cinematic universe, the build up in this movie did not feel quite as rushed as Dawn of Justice. Personally, I would have liked to see the other characters getting their own movies in order to set this up, but they're introductions in this movie seemed to have been done well. Also, while DC is certainly trying to match Marvel by using their big baddie Darkseid (the Thanos of the DC Universe), they didn't throw him into this movie in an attempt to jump into their own Infinity War type movie; rather, they used another character, tied to Darkseid, to build up to the massive enemy that Darkseid will be.
It is my hope that after the amazing film that Wonder Woman was and the great change in tone of Justice League, the DCEU will continue with this current trend of hopefulness and quippy Super Heroes.

Bostonian916 (449 KP) rated Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) in Movies
Aug 18, 2020 (Updated Aug 18, 2020)
While this movie does lack some of the charm and grit that made the original trilogy as epic as it was, it did have its own merits.
I've always felt it's important to allow movies that are a part of a larger universe stand on their own while also being judged as a part of said saga. When that approach is taken, I think most people would be hard pressed to not enjoy this movie.
Also, double bladed lightsaber and Ray Park gymnastics. Enough said.
P.S. Also, podracers!

The magic of Homecoming is that it belongs more to the John Hughes cinematic universe than the Avengers’. It cleverly references other Marvel films and even iconic scenes from previous Spider-jams, and right when it needs to

An unpopular opinion

I've heard some pretty scathing reviews of this film but I really enjoyed it! Jean is a rich character in the x-men universe who really deserved her own feature. It was a darker film which harked back to original x-men and I enjoyed that immensely
