The movie is in the same format as the unfriended movies, it takes place entirely through social media.
At the beginning we see a montage of clips and photos from the Kim family's life where we learn that the mum (pam) passes away from cancer. Fast forward a few years later and Margot - pam and David's daughter- is all grown up and everything seems to be going fine, that is until Margot goes missing.
David starts frantically searching on social media only to discover he didn't know Margot as much as he thought he did, and finds out some unusual information about her.
For a one time watch I did enjoy this movie, it shows how things can develop online from parent blaming to people pretending to be the missing persons friend, and writing 'heartfelt' messages. It also shows the hidden dangers of the online community such as how easy it is to obtain information. It was very gripping and kept me glued right to the twist at the end which I was not at expecting.

Spine-chilling, fucking exceptional horror. For all intents and purposes, this is the scariest (horror) movie I've ever seen - I couldn't walk around in my own house the same after watching this. Could be personal preference, but this just captures that eerie sense of merging humans and ghosts *just* so to where it's deeply, deeply unsettling. The deliberate lack of any cues as to when the horror is happening, and the vaguely creepy gestural stuff (i.e. moving your arms a little weird, slightly stumbling [almost intentionally so] when you walk) as opposed to outright demon-esque actions makes this feel more real, akin to something like those disturbing LiveLeak types of videos - binding the void between scary movies and snuff films. And this is all not even to mention the emotionally hefty themes and crackerjack dialogue which subvert this even more beyond the pack. Stumbles ever so slightly in its final fifteen or so minutes, but otherwise the work of a genius if you can get past the aged analog about the internet being this mysterious new entity.

Consider me charmed, as far as 𝘏𝘒𝘳𝘳𝘺 π˜—π˜°π˜΅π˜΅π˜¦π˜³/π˜•π˜’π˜³π˜―π˜ͺ𝘒 ripoffs go - you could do a whole lot worse. Story is intermittently intriguing but way too slight for what this wants to be, with lore and creature design *this* vivid it needed to be way more fleshed out. But I also recognize that if this were made today, they would have needlessly stretched out and sterilized this one-movie story into five distended cash grabs - er, I mean - 'movies' until any sense of purpose and enjoyability becomes unrecognizable, so I abstain. I'd much rather this have become a franchise as opposed to 𝘍𝘒𝘯𝘡𝘒𝘴𝘡π˜ͺ𝘀 π˜‰π˜¦π˜’π˜΄π˜΅π˜΄, firstly because Freddie Highmore can actually act (he's awesome here in both roles) whereas Eddie Redmayne is perhaps the only Oscar nominee who's never given a good performance. Looks absolutely dazzling, and the voice acting is A-class - just a really fun time all-around. Simple but effective, and I haven't even mentioned how many goblins get gruesomely murdered/dismembered/burned/eaten alive/melted/stabbed/ran over in this.

People would say there are enough movies about the Holocaust, but this film is different. In 1944, two Slovak Jewish scribes escaped from Auschwitz to safety. They "worked" for the Nazis keeping careful records for the camp. When they met with the Resistance and with the Red Cross, neither organization could believe that the stories they told were true. Meanwhile, back in Auschwitz, the inmates at Barrack 9 withstood months of torture protecting the escapees.
A great movie overall. Two things stood out. One scene at the camp: After spending the night standing outside in the cold, Nazis force the captures to perform their daily work. As the captures walk off, three bodies are seen: one leaning against the wall of the barrack, one in a fetal position on the ground, and the last knelt over, a powerful image of torture. The second happens during the credits when voices from the modern day propagate hate against "the others" showing how the Holocaust continues even as some deny it.

"The next I would say is La Strada because, well, do I really have to say? I feel like it’s sort of self-explanatory. Like [laughs] Giulietta Masina, I mean every performance, but particularly the last scene in the movie, with Anthony Quinn and just being on the beach, and everything about that movie is beautiful. And there’s something always about his films that, knowing that audio was recorded post shooting the film β€” I’m pretty sure that’s true with that movie β€” just to know, in a way, if it is true, it’s just to know that there are two sort of performances happening simultaneously. You can see and hear that. And I love that idea and what skill and sort of the presence to this day that movie has. And it’s also personally really resonant because my father said after he saw that movie, it was what made him want to make movies, and when I finally saw it when I was a teenager, I understood why. So it inevitably has a resonance beyond the brilliance of the movie itself."

Yes, I watched it twice... well why not? I've got Unlimited and it was very entertaining.

I'm going to dispense with most of the "official" waffle about this one. You know it's going to be a kick ass action movie and you know it's going to be funny. Some bits were a little awkward, and it probably wasn't as good as the first one, but it was still really enjoyable.

This one might make you want to lay off the burgers for a little while, but it will also make you love Mark Strong/Merlin even more than you did in the first place.

I do have one bugbear though, the trailer shows you part of the car chase with Galahad in the taxi, the music they use is a remix of The Who's song, My Generation. It works amazingly well. But of course like so many movies, that song was only used in the trailer, and the music that was over it in the film didn't work for me.

Pranked By Arnold
This is one of the baddest movies that Stallone has been in. Its so bad that its good?

The plot: Smarting from a romantic breakup, macho police Sgt. Joe Bomowski (Sylvester Stallone) gets a cross-country visit from his mother, Tutti (Estelle Getty). Her misguided efforts to help only fray his nerves, but that doesn't stop her from nagging Joe to be more open about his feelings toward his ex-girlfriend and current boss, Lt. Gwen Harper (JoBeth Williams). When Tutti witnesses a brutal multiple murder, she takes her meddling to the extreme by tagging along to help her son solve the case.

Sylvester Stallone signed onto the film based on rumors that Arnold Schwarzenegger was interested in the lead. In October 2017, Schwarzenegger confirmed a rumor that, knowing the script was "really bad", he had publicly faked interest in starring for producers to lure Stallone.

So Arnold pranked Stallone to get him into this movie that is so funny.

Dont watch this film, its not good.

The original beginning of the Dark Universe
In the early 2000s we saw a drop in great movies, even good ones and was left with the occasional sleeper hit and the obvious box office hits.

In 2004 universal released 'Van Helsing', with pretty decent promoting, and some neat casting with rising stars Hugh Jackman & Kate Beckinsale at the helm - with Richard Roxburgh as Dracula (also Robbie Coltrane as Mr Hyde)

The Story:
Van Helsing is on a mission from God, to rid evil from the world. After a 'paris job' goes wrong, Helsing returns to the Vatican to be briefed on this next assignment which sees helsing and his ally and friar named carl heading to Transylvania, to hunt down and kill count Dracula.
Joining forces with a Gypsy Princess named Anna who also seeks to kill Dracula in order to break her family's curse before her bloodline ends allowing her family to enter the kindom of heaven.

1408 follows the story of Mike Enslin (John Cusack), a man who writes β€˜true-horror’ books for a living; he stays in β€˜haunted’ hotels and locations for his inspiration. One day, he receives a postcard of the Dolphin Hotel telling him not to stay in room 1408. Despite the warnings of the hotel manager (Samuel L. Jackson), he proceeds to stay in there anyway.
Before watching this, I considered it being The Shining all over again. However, it was not. Apart from the hotel and the book writing, it was quite different.
Enslin starts by seeing a few ghosts and then strange things start happening.
In the middle, it starts messing with your head and you think β€˜was this before the hotel? is this real? is he imagining everything?’. I know I did.
I couldn’t really find any bad things with this and I would 100% recommend this to any horror fan and Stephen King book lover.

This is Michael Caine laid bare
I have always been a fan of Michael Caine and I have seen most of his movies from Zulu to Harry Brown and a lot more. Its fascinating to read about his life and the way he spent the first ten or so years of his adult life looking for that big break in acting. Its hard to think that he was actually over 30 when he got that big break. From his upbringing right upto the present day (2010) he gives a frank and revealing insight into the life of an actor, both in front of the camera and away from it. What i also like is there is none of the 'oh look at me and see how much i earn' about this book. In parts it even contains guidance and information if you are trying to make it in the film and TV world. A great read and i did find it hard to put down.
