Autobiography of the “Supervet”
Didn’t we all want to be a vet when we were little? Well Noel Fitzpatrick held onto that dream and is now the well respected and amazing Supervet.
It was quite surprising to read how he was bullied relentlessly at secondary school. He grew up on the family farm where his passion for animals began, but this was quite an isolated start in life apart from his many siblings. He had to work hard on the farm.
Moving to secondary school meant meeting more worldly boys from the towns and he didn’t fit in. But he found ways to cope and threw himself into his studies which he still does even now.
His strong working life has come at a cost to a personal life but he does go into past relationships and regrets.
Noel Fitzpatrick has a vision for veterinary and human medicine to be able to work together and is determined to work towards that goal.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this autobiography.

Nov 20, 2019 (Updated Nov 20, 2019)
There have been a few posts on here about favourite/greatest Christmas movies and it's one of those topics that is always hotly debated. So... I decided to create 'The Smashbomb Greatest Movie of 2019' competition! 50 movies (apologies if your favourite didn't make the cut), split into 2 groups. In the coming weeks leading up to Christmas I will run a poll for each block of 5 so that you can vote for your favourite, with the top 2 from each block moving onto the next round. At that point, each group will have 10 movies in the next round and there will then be a poll to cover each block of 5. The top 3 from each group will then move onto the final deciding poll! The attached image will (hopefully) explain the process a bit better and if this isn't easily readable then I will put a hi-res version online, updated regularly as the competition progresses. The first poll will be up on here shortly - I look forward to seeing what the definitive best Christmas movie is!

381. The Battery. A rather boring zombie tale. It has good reviews, but eh... We meet Ben and Mickey, two former baseball players, we know this because they frequently stop to have a quick game of catch, they are travelling the now deserted roads of New England. Mickey is the scared one, not quite grasping the situation and wants to settle down somewhere. Also Mickey wears headphones most of the time, is that really a wise decision walking the streets of a zombie infested land, and you disable your hearing?? And Ben wants to keep moving because that's the best thing to do. On occasion they run into a zombie, a person with some powder on their face and lipstick smeared on various parts of their faces. They also spend a large portion of time trapped in a car, and quite a funny part this is. First thing I noticed about the car they are trapped in, the windows are partially rolled down, however the zombies never reach in to grab at em. So yea, it's forgettable. Filmbufftim on FB

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)
2019 | Drama
Inarguable indicator of cultural hegemony (movie built around an entirely US-centric cultural figure manages to get an international release) also turns out to be an impressive and moving drama. Cynical and misanthropic journalist is assigned to interview beloved children's TV host and font of decent folksy wisdom. Can the power of niceness conquer all?

Movie inevitably loses a lot of its resonance for a viewer who only became aware of Fred Rogers and his TV show a short while ago, but this is still a charming and imaginative film. Just how much of it is actually true is probably one of those questions best not asked, but Hanks gives a brilliant performance, somehow managing not to come across as incredibly cheesy, while - in a less showy role - Matthew Rhys is also extremely good as the journalist. If you take away the slightly surreal Fred Rogers elements this is basically just another drama about someone working out his issues with his father, but it's a highly impressive one.

omg this book takes you on so many twist and turns my neck hurts.
what i don't like about some series is that the second book has to go and rehash whats happened in the fist book......like if the reader had read the first book like i have they would already bloody know and if not ...didums go read it anyway moving on. in the first book roth was my fave ,,,in this book i was so torn between zayne and roth i want layla to have both (is that greedy?) anyway layla is a lot less of an immature whiny baby in this book and i started to like her character a lot more honestly loved this book soooo much i even think i love it more then the first which is rare for me always love the originals. this is another book that took 8 hours to read even with having to do my day to day stuff it has you hooked from the beginning
